Meet DJ ANARCHY: DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ ANARCHY and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ ANARCHY, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I LOVE taking risks, I would say I am where I am today because of it. 5 years ago I decided to take a major risk to leave Trinidad & Tobago to come to USA to chase my dream of becoming a full time DJ. Basically I went against advice of most family and close friends to not leave my “Good Life” in Trinidad to chase the unknown. I felt something greater was calling me, I trusted my gut, sold all my belongings and left Trinidad & Tobago with just 2 suit cases of clothes and my DJ Mixer. Now today I’m living very comfortably doing what I Love which is full time DJing at clubs/bars and also landed a weekly mixshow on Pitbull’s Globalization SiriusXM 13 which airs every Saturday at 10pm CT/11pm ET
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Club/Radio DJ I think my musical versatility and my musical foresight of being able to predict most times when a new artist is about to blow up, and also my general vibe, energy and style of DJing is what sets me apart from most other people. I’m really proud of myself for trusting my gut and chasing my dreams, also having landed a weekly radio show on SiriusXM and I’m really excited about the future and what it holds for me I am where I am today because of the grace of God and also networking. I would say going out networking with new people and building REAL Genuine relationships was the major key to where I am where I am at today. Of course by no means the journey was’t an easy one, I had to learn to discipline myself to master managing my time. When I just got to America i had to work a 9-5 which sometimes I would not get off work till around 9pm some nights and still find the energy to go out networking and also doing DJ gigs, then getting home just in time to get maybe a couple hours of sleep and back to work the next day lol. Also because I’m from the Islands (Trinidad & Tobago to be exact) i have a very THICK accent lol, so that made it a bit difficult for people to understand what i was saying, i had to learn to slow down my speech all the way. But the funny thing is because of my accent I stood out from the pack and would be remembered by most people so i used it to my advantage Definitely I’ve learned to have patience and Trust in God and the process! I want the world to know that ANYTHING is POSSIBLE, there are no limitations to life unless we ourselves create one
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ll definitely take them first to the Caribbean Curry Spot in Pearland to get that Caribbean fix!! Hit up the clubs of course lol, go out bike riding in Downtown Houston and also hit up the Galleria Mall
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out “BIG SYPHE” one of the people who works very closely with Internationally known star “Pitbull” He believed in me and gave me my shot on SiriuXM radio about 3 years ago and here I am still rocking the airwaves up to this day.
