We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ ANUP USA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ ANUP USA, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe hard work and persistence contributed to my success. When I started DJing back in 2014, I never categorized any opportunity as small or big. I always believed, any venture, big or small provides you opportunity to learn something new and will open door to new connections & ventures. I believed in process and never worried about the outcome but definitely had a goal and vision of where I wanted to be in future.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am Disc Jockey(DJ) and Music Producer based in Houston, Tx.

One of the reason I started DJing & producing Bollywood music was to bridge the gap between USA and Bollywood and unite all the Bollywood music lovers in USA through music. My parties offer social platform for all the Bollywood music lovers to gather, get to know each other and enjoy the Bollywood music with their family and friends.

The biggest lesson I have learned in my career is that one should never quit just because you see risk in doing it. Sometimes, not doing something that you want to do because of the risk you see in doing it puts you at even higher risk as you put a full stop in first place without even trying and getting your hands dirty in it. The outcome would have been otherwise if you have at least tried and tested. Also, uncalibrated risks can lead to catastrophic failure. Hence, calibrated risk management is the key. Bigger the risk , bigger is the reward only if the risk is carefully calibrated and managed. I have always spent significant amount of time and energy calibrating risks in any ventures which has helped me to minimize risks and become successful in my musical career.

I feel happy when people believe in me and my music. I feel mesmerized when people show up to my shows with all the enthusiasm and bring the madness to my show. It pushes me to become my better version with each show. I enjoy making music that people can relate to their lifestyle, relationships and emotions and I feel connected to them personally through music which makes me utterly happy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston offers variety of options to explore for tourists. I would start with a trip to Galveston beach and Keemah Boardwalk. There are plenty of seafood resturants and bars in the area to eat and drink. Another exciting exploration would definitely be NASA Johnson Space Center which is the hub of human spaceflight activity for more than half a century. Anybody who’s into shopping can explore upscale malls and outlets like Galleria Mall, Willowbrook Mall, Cypress Outlets, etc. Houston area do offer a lot of nightlife options like bars and clubs. Gavanna Night Club and Club Z are one of the best night clubs in Houston offering mix of Latin, HIphop , EDM & Bollywood Music scene. In addition, Houston is also well known for diversified resturants offering variety of food from different parts of the world. If one is into running, exercise and jogging, Memorial and Hermann parks offer walking & running trails as well cycling trails & plenty of greenery and trees.

I am thankful to my family, friends and relatives who have always supported me throughout my career. Big Shout Out to Club Z, Houston who provided me an opportunity & platform to be the official DJ for their Bollywood Parties.
