We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique LaGrone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The mist important factor behind my success is putting God first. Some days I wanted to quit but he always sends me signs to let me know there is another whole chapter behind this story.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a cosmetologist by day so crafting is my gift. I’m most proud and excited because starting a second business was never planned I really just started crafting and then it became a business. The crafting is easy because it’s really therapeutic for me. I try to be creative and try to do something original.
Whatever my clients purchase it will fit your style and you will hardly see hundreds of others with it. I’m real big on customer service that contributes a lot to my successful brand. The biggest challenge I have is finding balance because I’m still a full time mom. Believe it or not I try to make every game and school function that my child is in. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I often frequent a lot of restaurants but my favorite is Pappadeaux. It’s not the fanciest but I love it. My outings consist of brunch and with a small circle. I like a nice lounge with good music, food, and drinks. I really don’t have a favorite as long as it’s nice I’m good. Kiss is in the top of my list if I had to choose. I also love to entertain so any given day I will have brunch at my house if a friend or family comes to town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God and supportive family. My family really supports my business.
