We had the good fortune of connecting with Don Gaskin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Don, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The initial thought process was not that of starting a business. It was for me to do something that I love and have a passion for, which is music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My full time career has been in IT for the past 14 years. I started out in the hardware/desktop aspect of IT and realized that side of things would not pay the bills without some significant experience in the field. I then moved on to Help Desk support and that led to getting into the software side of IT and that’s where I am now. Needless to say it was not easy and the money was not where I needed it to be. One valuable lesson I’ve learned is to always stay true to yourself and be consistent in what you want out of life. There is nothing more rewarding than setting a major goal and reaching that goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The one place I would take them is the spot I currently dj at and frequent the most which is Legacy cigars and lounge located in Stafford on Hwy 90. The spot offers some of the best food and drinks I’ve ever had and we have some of the best djs, owners, and staff Houston has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people I could give a shout-out to buy the main person is Cedric Dennis aka DJ Iceman. He is the one who gave me the tools I needed to become what I am today.
