We had the good fortune of connecting with Doyinsola Oluwatosin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Doyinsola, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principle that matters most to me is integrity. Integrity to me means having strong moral principles and doing the right thing always even behind closed door when no one is looking. Also, being honest with oneself. If you are lying to everyone else, at least be honest with yourself. I believe with integrity, trust will be gained, and people can entrust their funds with you, vouch for your word and work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

iCurea Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on providing basic psychological, emotional, and physical relief for the poor and underserved individuals in the community. Since 2016, we have donated 2,650 Christmas gifts to seniors in low-income nursing homes as of today and we continue to support others in the community. Collectively, we have supported approximately 3,000 or more individuals in our community. I have a dual Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration and worked as a Nursing Home Administrator and HR Director for 13 years. My background in healthcare with a focus in long-term care, has helped me navigate and operate this non-profit organization effectively. I currently work full-time as the Executive Director of iCurea Foundation and have collaborated with different individuals and environments that have shaped and provided me with the opportunity to work or relate with anyone despite their social-economic status.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but with the support of our community, friends, and family, we have successfully impacted many lives. We are excited to partner and collaborate with more businesses as we continue to support the underprivileged in our community.

Giving back to society comes with so many lessons. We realize that the things that we take for granted or complain about are what others do not have. I have learned to be grateful and thankful for what I have. The gratitude attitude has helped us at iCurea to see every opportunity to help as a blessing. Also, I cannot overemphasize the importance of a good team and support system.

Lastly, learning to not relent on our mission is one of the greatest lessons learned to date because obstacles arise all the time that test what we do, but focusing on our goal has helped our foundation thrive beyond our imagination.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My idea of fun has changed over time, I will take her to an African restaurant, watch a family friendly movie at the movie studio grill, visit the museum, take a walk in the park, and end it with a self-care day. The self-care would include pedicure and manicure, Thai massage, and end with some facials. I’m sure after these, we should be ready to have a relaxed evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will like to appreciate my spouse, family members, friends and the iCurea Foundation team members for their moral, financial support, encouragement, and prayers. With their unyielding support I have being able to have some form of life work balance. I’m grateful for their support.
