Meet Dr. Jenn Au | Somatic Mindfulness Coach, Hypnotherapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy & Holistic Bodywork

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jenn Au and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Jenn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For most of my life, I never imagined starting my own business.
What led me to create I Am Home Holistic Wellness were the traumas I experienced along my journey. Some of my darkest moments turned out to be blessings in disguise. During these times, I confronted abandonment, pain, and deeply rooted feelings of inadequacy. This difficult journey led me to personal development and a spiritual path where I began to truly see, hear, and love myself. My wounded inner child started to stand tall, feeling the love that emerged as it integrated with my higher self and a loving presence within me.
I Am Home Holistic Wellness is a business born from my own inner child’s healing. Its mission is to help others access loving awareness, mindfulness, empowerment, and the love they may have spent a lifetime seeking in the outside world.
My goal with I Am Home Holistic Wellness is to shift people’s focus from seeking external validation to finding internal validation, using the same holistic practices that helped me heal. The modalities I use for this healing include mindfulness, hypnotherapy, somatic experiencing, physical therapy, holistic bodywork, and parts work therapy.
Through my most painful experiences, I felt called to help others heal. I know that trauma has a beginning, but it also has an end.
The traumas, pains, and anxieties in life do not have to overpower us. We can heal. We can come home.
I Am Home Holistic Wellness is a beacon of light for those in need of support, guidance, and healing. It serves as a pathway to accessing the light within themselves—a light that has always been there, waiting to be seen.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I Am Home Holistic Wellness: Our Mission
I Am Home Holistic Wellness’s mission is to help others “come home.” To me, “Coming Home” means returning to a presence within, accessing a state of oneness and love that emerges from within ourselves. It’s a feeling that allows people to recognize that everything they’ve been seeking externally is, in fact, already here in this moment. Coming Home is about integrating all parts of the mind and reconnecting with authenticity in the present. It is the simple yet profound ability to return to your heart.
What We Offer
I Am Home Holistic Wellness provides a range of healing opportunities, including programs, personal sessions, group workshops, and retreats, all designed to help people navigating trauma, anxiety, chronic pain, and stress find their way home.
What sets my business apart is my diverse skill set in healing modalities. I draw from mindfulness, meditation, hypnotherapy, holistic bodywork, physical therapy, somatic experiencing, and parts work therapy to offer a truly integrative approach to wellness.
My Background and Practice
Alongside these holistic practices, I have accumulated thousands of hours of meditation practice. This personal dedication to mindfulness has profoundly shaped my healing journey. I’ve spent time in various Buddhist monasteries and have attended over 15 silent meditation retreats, each lasting 10 to 21 days. These experiences in silence and meditation deepen my understanding and allow me to bring a unique depth of presence and empathy to my work with clients.
Through my mindfulness practice and extensive training, such as in somatic hypnotherapy, I guide clients into altered states of consciousness that enable deep, restorative rest. In these states, clients access a sense of oneness and experience profound peace across all parts of the mind.
The Coming Home Program
I am particularly proud of our Coming Home Program, a 4–6 month journey designed for clients who are dedicated to developing emotional resilience and learning to embrace themselves just as they are. This journey is about opening to authenticity, connecting with the heart’s true desires, and walking the path of mindfulness toward genuine fulfillment.
I am inspired by each participant’s courage as they transform difficult feelings into presence and being. Through this program, clients begin to experience the freedom of embracing their true selves and living from a place of joy and authenticity.
A Message of Hope and Possibility
To anyone struggling with self-esteem, abandonment pain, or doubt, I want you to know: healing is possible. Loving yourself is possible. Living the life you desire is possible.
I began my journey dealing with chronic stress, dissociation, panic attacks, anxiety, breathlessness, and low self-esteem. Through dedication, healing, and growth, I’ve expanded beyond these challenges. My clients, too, often start with burnout, low self-worth, and the pain of staying small—but they, too, find their way to authenticity, love, and just plain fun!
If we can transform, you can, too.
Trauma has a beginning, and it also has an end. Healing is possible. Don’t lose faith; take aligned action toward your dreams!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were in town, my main goal would be to create a fun and healing experience together. First, I’d take her to some of the most beautiful nature spots in Southern California, like Huntington Beach, Balboa Island, La Jolla, and Crystal Cove. We’d spend time relaxing on the beach, enjoying a picnic with a blanket, good food, oracle cards, and some chill music.
One of my favorite things to do in Southern California is simply bask in the sun by the water. Another activity I enjoy is brunch, and I’d love to take her to some of my favorite spots, such as Nep Cafe, OEB Breakfast Co, and Everyday Eatery.
For something a bit more adventurous, I’d also plan to take my friend rock climbing at Sender One Climbing Gym in either LA or Santa Ana. It’s a regular activity for me, so I’d be excited to show her how much fun it can be.
In the evenings, I’d plan to take her to some of the holistic events happening around Orange County, such as sound healing or breathwork sessions. The area has so many great options for these kinds of experiences, and I’d love to share them with her!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my success to my sister, Cindy Au, and to my first coach, Dr. Toni Liu.
My sister built her business, Simply & Dainty Jewelry, from scratch. What began as a hobby eventually became her full-time business! Through her experiences, she encouraged me to start my own business around holistic wellness, recognizing my passion for healing. Without her support, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
My first coach, Dr. Toni Liu, is a cartoonist, physician, and coach. I found her through a post she shared in a Facebook group. I resonated with her story of burnout and how she pursued medicine for years, doing what was expected of her. Eventually, she created a nomadic life for herself, traveling and working on her business—a dream I shared. Meeting Dr. Toni made me realize I could truly pursue anything I wanted. Her guidance filled me with a sense of joy and excitement, showing me I could carve out a path that felt authentic to me. I am grateful for Dr. Toni as one of the first coaches who helped me on the path to creating I Am Home Holistic Wellness.
