We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Omair Shamim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Omair, what do you attribute your success to?
My medical college played an important role to bring my brand to this point. My medical college held a winter festival in which I participated with my stall of ‘Photobooth’, and my stall placed first in collecting the most coupons because everyone like my photography so much. With time when people around me got to know about my photography talent. I got opportunities to show it off and in this way, I involved myself in covering different events that includes my cousin’s engagement ceremony, a convocation ceremony held by my medical institute etc. And the another factor is, I give performance on an equal scale to low-budget customers and high-budget customers. I never compromised in the quality of my work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, there was no such thought process or long-term planning kinda thing behind it. Taking photography as my career/business was never my plan, it was always my hobby, my passion, since I love clicking moments, I use to do it for my family, relatives, and friends. My inspiration from day one is my father. Photography was his hobby and you can say this is inherited in me. I grew up watching him capture pictures and store them. He use to say, that photos are the only source that could take us back to the moment we never want to forget. This thing touched my heart and I decided to follow him. Later with time, after looking at my talent friends and family suggested me to take it as my second profession, so I thought to go for it and now here I’m growing with my brand name, “OS Photography” and my clicked photos can be easily found on Twitter under the hashtag of #osphotography. I’m working harder to see my brand flourishing. I think every photographer has something different that others might not have if I talk about myself so I consider the patience level in me while capturing pictures. It helped me capture the best images and for that, I really feel proud, because my clients have always appreciated my work.
It took me 10 years to bring my photography to this point. During this duration, I made a no. of mistakes, faced a lot of criticism, failure, etc but I bear everything to make it happen successfully. Dedication and patience are very important. Though this affected me in a way that I wasn’t able to give time to family initially because I had to work hard, whenever I use to get some free time my family was my top priority. In all this fuss my dental career also got disturbed but again I learned to manage that as well.
And yes this patience is what I learned from my photography.
I do photography with all perfect apertures and provide as high-quality images as I can so that moments can be stored in a beautiful and long-lasting way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
