We had the good fortune of connecting with Dre Dior and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dre, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I was rapping since I was a kid. My older cousin who also was an artist, P. Coles, started seeing potential in my bars when I was 17/18. That’s when he took me to the studio, and the rest was history.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I often treat my music like art projects, but each project that I have dropped shows a deeper journey of growth. The listener gets to feel the different emotions and sounds that support the journey. It makes me excited when people give me their own synopsis on what each project is truly about.
I got here from having a great team. Dope friends. Hard work and dedication. It was definitely not easy. I highly appreciate my losses because how do you learn and grow without them.
I learned to not let road blocks harbor on your goals. From losing competitions, income issues, business indifference, etc.
I turned everything I went through and turn into a dope jam.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m definitely a food guy. If they wanted a Philly cheesesteak, we’re going to Peppi’s and pizza is a fight between Benny’s & Spak Bros. To get the wide view of Pittsburgh, we gotta visit the Overlook at night.
Of course, a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
But it’s mainly about the food !
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out, Brodie Casanova, a frequent artist & producer that I collab with. Without him I would not know what my music would sound like!
Shout out to Kellette, the first artist from out of town that took me seriously and now a frequent collaborator in a decent amount of tracks!
Shout out to Luwidakid, I watched him perform for the first time in 2020 to killing the stage in 2024!
Shout out to many more but that would be a long list.
