We had the good fortune of connecting with Eisha Cherubin, daily fashion & lifestyle nano influencer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eisha, how do you think about risk?
Ah risk taking, a love hate relationship! Risks I think are one of those aspects in life where no one wants to participate but at some point we all have too or at least we all should. I believe it’s one of those necessary leaps that we have to take even though it is daunting, uncomfortable and at times mysterious. I think when people hear that they must take some risks automatically their minds jump to the extreme and they shut down the possibility right away. But risks don’t have to be as extreme as quitting your secure job to pursue a dream, leaving the only home you know with only a couple of dollars or signing a huge contract that you’re unsure of. Risks can also be less extreme actions such as attending college, moving out of state or working towards turning a hobby into a business. All risks that I have taken myself and have all paid off. In the midst of taking these risks I had no idea where either would land me but I knew that if I didn’t take those risks, live in the unknown and be uncomfortable for a bit there are many opportunities that I would miss. These specific risks that I mention here have played such an important role in my life and my career. Taking the risk and attending college set me up for a strong career path, moving out of state opened doors for me that I didn’t think I would walk through for years down the road and pursuing to turn my hobby into a business is allowing me the opportunity to learn so much more, make new connections and put my energy into a dream that even scares me. Like I said, risk taking, a love hate relationship but it’s one of those aspects in life that even though we hate it we have to take it because in the end we’ll love the rewards.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Full time, I’m an employee. I work in corporate retail and that is a journey within itself, a story for a different time? Part-time I am a daily fashion & lifestyle blogger. Through my brand I aspire to inspire Black Women to accept & enjoy all bits of luxury in their lives without feeling guilt. That is what sets me apart! It is not an easy journey and I am still trying to figure it out. This industry is very saturated and it is not easy to navigate. But I believe that there is still space for me & if I continue to learn, adjust and authentically share my craft I will attract the right people and build a strong community. As I continue to grow and build, I want everyone who comes in contact with my content to feel inspired, empowered and wanting to shop my closet.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recently moved to Dallas, during my free time the only thing that I have been doing is eating out, so the only places we will be visiting are restaurants. The Henry for brunch. Dahlia’s for drinks. Gus’s for fried chicken. Enoteca for dinner. Moxie’s for dinner & drinks. So many good food options around here and there are so much more on my list to try!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friend Ashley Gelin deserves credit in my story here. It is so important to have like minded, supportive and strong women around you and I have found that in Ashley. For example, I wouldn’t be doing this interview here if it wasn’t for her sharing my information. Now that’s what we consider women supporting women!
My biggest cheerleader, my sister Heidi Cherubin needs her moment as well. She is always prepared to stand behind whatever it is that I am planning on doing next. When I landed my first paid collaboration, to help me boost my analytics, without even needing this product, she made sure to purchase a piece. That is the kind of support that we all need!
Of course I can’t end my shoutout without mentioning my husband. I remember when I first decided to embark on this journey of becoming a blogger, I started with no gear, no clue what I was really doing, just me my laptop & my phone putting together a plan. He then went out, bought me a camera and said you’re going to need this for your blog. Whatever venture I set my mind to, he’s always prepared to cheer me on and be my biggest supporter!
