We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth York and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is at the heart of every entrepreneurial endeavor. By definition an entrepreneur is someone who takes greater than normal risk to operate a business. Taking risks is an almost daily event for a small business owner but you quickly learn what works and what doesn’t and how to maximize what works and minimize unnecessary risks. When Lone Wolf was created it was with a desire to produce a high quality, durable, Made in the USA leash and provide a great alternative to the typical round braid rope leash. Putting your name and reputation out there is a huge step but well worth the return when your product line grows each and every year because of the quality of your product. Lone Wolf continues to experience risk as we grow and add to our product line each and every year since 2007. Risk drives us to do better, be creative, provide the best customer service and quality product each and every day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I retired from nursing after 40 years to join my husband, the CEO of Lone Wolf and reinvented myself. It was not easy since the pet industry and healthcare are not related but I wanted to succeed and help Lone Wolf grow because I knew then as I am even more convinced now that we have an incredible product. The key lesson I learned was never be afraid to try something new, especially if it challenges you. Develop relationships with those having more experience than you and read, read, read! Lone Wolf was born to provide a quality, comfortable leash at an affordable price and that allows the pet and pet owner to enjoy their time together and build a better bond. John was driven to find an alternative to the typical round braided leash that allows a pet owner to choose what works best. We pride ourselves in our product and customer service and our incredible team!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Crystal Perez-Quang and Liza Cervantes, these two tireless workers have supported Lone Wolf for many years now. Their dedication and passion for quality has played a pivotal role in the Lone Wolf pack. They are truly one of the major cornerstones of our success.
