We had the good fortune of connecting with Emcee Pnut 18Hunnit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emcee Pnut, how do you define success?
Success to me is about faith, happiness, and becoming the person you set out to be. Success isn’t just about recognition—it’s about doing what you love in a way that stays true to your values. If you can pursue your dream in a positive, godly manner and bring energy, joy, and something new to people, that’s success.

Success also means waking up without fear of tomorrow. It means having the courage to chase what’s on your heart and putting your mind fully into it. If you’re doing what you always dreamed of and you’re happy where you are in life, then in my eyes, you’ve already succeeded.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is all about energy, connection, and creating unforgettable moments. As an Emcee, hype man, and improv comedian, my job is to read the room, hype the crowd, and turn any moment into an experience people will never forget. I don’t just hold a mic—I own the space, bring the laughs, and make sure everyone leaves feeling lifted and alive.

What sets me apart is my versatility. I live by the quote: “Everything in life is temporary unless you make it permanent.” I bring that to my craft, my faith, and my life. I see every stage and every crowd as a platform to give back, especially to those figuring out how to channel their own talent.

I’m a jack of all trades in this industry—hard to put in a box—but I always bring authenticity, energy, and heart to everything I do.

One of my biggest missions is to create a new lane for the youth coming up in this industry. Not every kid wants to be a producer, a promoter, a rapper, or a singer—but they still want to be in the scene, part of the action, and give others unforgettable experiences. I want to show them there’s a place for people like them too, and that they can thrive while helping others have the best moments possible.

My journey started in Madison, Wisconsin, but in 2021 I took a leap of faith and moved to Houston, Texas. I didn’t even pick up a microphone until 2023, after church one day, realizing I had a voice, a purpose, and a mission to elevate every room I step in. It wasn’t easy—building connections, earning trust, and finding my lane took work and persistence—but faith, resilience, and determination kept me moving forward.

The lessons I’ve learned are simple: show up, stay authentic, and use your talents to lift others. Challenges will come, but every obstacle is an opportunity to grow. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m here to inspire, entertain, and bring energy like no one else. I bring versatility, heart, and passion wherever I go—and I’m committed to making every moment count.

Remember: “Everything in life is temporary unless you make it permanent.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Houston for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience—food, fun, and unforgettable memories.

We’d start at Discovery Green, strolling the paths, checking out the park, feeding the ducks, and even hopping on the canoes to take in the city from the water. For some interactive learning and culture, I’d hit up museums—the ones where you can actually touch, play, and explore.

When it’s time for fun and games, Cidercade and Main Event are my go-tos—they’re perfect for letting loose, playing some arcade games, and just having a great time.

Food is a huge part of the Houston experience, so we’d make stops at some of my favorites: 7Spice for bold Asian flavors, Dona Letis for comfort, Crafty Crab for seafood vibes, Frenchy’s Chicken for classic Houston flavor, Red Wagon for casual eats, and Lazy Dog for a chill, hearty meal. Every meal is a chance to soak in the local vibe and flavor.

Beyond food and games, Houston has so much to explore. I’d take them to local neighborhoods, street art spots, and live music venues, showing them the people, energy, and culture that make this city special. By the end of the week, they’d get a real taste of Houston—the food, the fun, the people, and the unforgettable moments.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I have to give all the glory to God for guiding my path and giving me the faith to take big risks. Moving from Madison, Wisconsin to Houston, Texas in 2021 was a true leap of faith, but I believe God placed me exactly where I’m meant to be.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to my family—my mother, my father, and my two little sisters. My father has always been there as a real father, never walking away and always showing us what strength and commitment look like. My mother has always been someone I can call anytime—she’s not just my mom, she’s also like my best friend.

And my two little sisters push me every day to be great. They remind me that I have to lead by example and show them what it looks like to chase your dreams with everything you’ve got.

I also want to show love to all the DJs and promoters who trusted me with their mic and gave me the opportunity to bring the energy. Those opportunities never go unnoticed.

And a special shoutout to my management teams, TAJAH Promotions and Dirty Bizness Entertainment, for the hard work, dedication, and belief they put into me as an entertainer. It truly takes a team, and I’m grateful for every person who’s helped me turn the dream into reality.
