Meet Erika Garfias | Owner of Enlace Jewelry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Garfias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
If I were to describe myself I would have never chosen risk taker as an adjective for myself. For as long as I can remember I have always had a plan for any major decisions. I over analyze things and if they were not in “the plan” I normally will talk myself out of it. However with Enlace it has been the exact opposite from the beginning. From discussing my business idea to my husband to launching Enlace it was less than a two week process. My husband’s support greatly impacted my ability to move forward and believe in my ability to bring Enlace to life. I strongly believe that has been the driving force behind Enlace. I took the risk and didn’t look back. I’ve had to have some pep talks from my husband and my parents regarding self-doubt but I can wholeheartedly say this has been the biggest and most rewarding risk I’ve ever taken.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Enlace specializes in permanent jewelry. We offer a variety of chains that are custom fitted as bracelets, anklets and necklaces. It is considered permanent because we weld the chain with a jump ring instead of using a clasp. We can be found at pop-ups around town. We also come to you for private parties/events such as bachelorette parties, girl’s night out, baby showers, excetera.

I am the most proud of taking this leap of faith to becoming a business owner. Being able to show my kids that if you can dream it you can do it has been priceless. They recently were able to see me in action at a local pop-up. They seemed so mesmerized by seeing me in this new role. My oldest (8 years old) quickly asked if he could pass out business cards to the patrons at the event. They took a stack and got to it, they wanted to help. That little gesture made me incredibly proud of them and I feel it is giving them an experience and social skills they would otherwise not have.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my husband, Ricardo. I know that without his support Enlace would not have become a reality. He helped me dream big and keep my thoughts positive when I would begin to doubt my ability to make Enlace a success. It has been a beautiful journey to work together and bring this dream to life.
