We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin De Phunk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You get what you put in. The risks you take and how big of a leap can decide how far You can propel forward. I’m not saying just quit your job and do what you want. I’m saying create a plan and follow that calculated risk. It’s partially calculated and planned. It’s not just out of a whim expecting nothing will go wrong. Don’t half way do things, do things all the way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Outside of being a professional creative, I’m also an OSHA safety crane inspector. Coming from Filipino roots where education is the most valuable thing during your upbringing. There’s always the mental fight of going the typical route of medical field, etc. Of course you want to make your family proud but, I also had to face my own personal happiness and goals. I learned about sacrifice. I was dancing professionally full time for about 2 years. Now I prefer just doing it on the side, due to it being my “getaway”. As cliche as that sounds, it’s mixing business with pleasure. I prefer it to be more pleasure with some business.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
