We had the good fortune of connecting with Erna Blooms and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My character branding and value-adding mindset. I view any potential collaborations as an extension of my purposeful vision, creative expressions, and legacy impact. I’ve been mindful in helping innovative and service-driven entrepreneurs fast-track their vision of creating beautiful and better businesses to bring joy and fulfillment to people’s lives, while gaining significant impact in their own lives, both in revenue and respectable legacy.
At first, I didn’t realize that my character has a lot to do with why people decided to do business with me. The character assets that people appreciate about mine are performance integrity, courage to pursue scary opportunities, genuine care to do what’s right for each other ‘s growth, and fun implementation approaches. Upon this discovery, I realized that understanding your own character assets and learning how to turn them into your voice and visuals to attract your dream audience has not been easy for most entrepreneurs.
Learning from my own success path in embracing my own character assets, I’ve decided to help my clients to use their character branding to build their business success path through insightful deep-dive and creative collaborations. I’ve seen the power of finding your own character branding in my clients. They’ve become re-engaged and recharged in their own businesses, and for some, they found the confidence from the new clarity of how they need to pursue their big vision and aggressive goals. I personally embrace challenges and love sharing ways for my audience to do the same.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up with a twin sister has its advantages and disadvantages. Setting myself apart from my twin sister has been my young adulthood-long journey. We all strive to create our own identities. What I realized now is that we don’t have to work too hard and search too far. I made a mistake by focusing on the external embellishments to differentiate myself. Although that helps, now, I am more certain than ever that our inner character is truly what sets us apart from others. Each of us has our own character code. We owe it to ourselves to find it, and we need to honor those character assets. One character asset that I have with my art is curiosity.
Since I was a young girl, I have found myself easily bored with things that saturated the market. I always want something special whether it’s a perfectly sewn stuffed animal Snoopy, beautiful wooden-porcelain handmade plate, well-made silk shirt, or super-soft bargained beddings. I am looking for the love put into the making of these products that I want to own.
Similarly in creating my art, I want to put my love in it. I find excitement to do conceptual art where I combine two normal subject matters into one seamless concept to bring a new meaning of hope, love, joy, and peace. I simply love the depth of discovery that my audience connects to when viewing my work of art. Curious Morphologie is one art brand I created to showcase this passion project. If I don’t get inspired by the concept during the initial sketching, I won’t execute the final drawing.
This Curious Morphologie brand started my entrepreneurial journey, which then connected me with more innovative, heart-centered entrepreneurs who asked me to collaborate with them on their brands. Whether I am working on my own brand or my clients’ brand, I have one purposeful mission which is to bring more beauty and peace to our earth. I envision a world where everyone is joyfully sharing and receiving each other’s talents and supporting one another through challenges with optimism, hope, and unconditional love. Together we will be stronger, happier, and more fulfilled.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would like to welcome them with Mochinuts and brunch at the Creme de La Crepe or Chinese Dim Sum. If they want to go shopping, we can hang out at the Irvine Spectrum and have dinner at one of the restaurants there. I definitely will get the olive oil cake from Tendergreens while I am there and visit Typo store for fun souvenir gifts. If they are in foodie mode, I will take them to Anaheim Packing District to try many types of food, or we can just go to a delicious vegan restaurant called The Seabird Kitchen at Lab Anti-Mall Costa Mesa because it has cool creative decor.
If they have never been to Disneyland, we will go there. To end the visit, I will take them to one of my favorite restaurants, the Haven Craft Kitchen, or the Clawzone in Westminster for lobster and tasty creole seafood for lunch. Then go to Huntington Beach for a beachside concert and pick up Afters ice cream afterward. I personally love some impromptu experience, so we may drive around and see a cool restaurant or a musical show, then just go for it.
In short, I love curating 5 elements for their experience: memorable food (drinks and desserts included), peaceful nature, uplifting music, cultural experience, and fun spontaneity.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
