We had the good fortune of connecting with Evelyn Piña and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evelyn, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Houston, Texas, and I truly believe that being raised here has shaped so much of who I am today. Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and growing up surrounded by so many cultures gave me a deep appreciation for people, perspectives, and connection. As an International Business major, that foundation has only strengthened my passion for understanding how different cultures interact, not just in business, but in life.

I’m also a proud Mexican-American woman, deeply connected to my roots and incredibly thankful for how far I’ve come. Houston holds a very special place in my heart- it’s a city full of opportunity, where community, culture, and ambition thrive side by side. It’s a place that nurtures you, feeds your growth, and teaches you the value of hard work and resilience. I wouldn’t be who I am without it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey built on hard work, resilience, and a lot of heart. Today, I wear multiple hats I’m a social media manager for several clients, a digital creator and UGC partner, and I still proudly support Elite Oral & Facial Surgery as part of Dr. Alex Bachoura’s team, where it all started. What sets me apart is my ability to bring strategy, creativity, and authenticity into everything I do- whether I’m creating content for a brand or helping a business grow from the inside out.

Getting here wasn’t easy, like many people, I had moments of self-doubt, confusion, and burnout. I didn’t always know what I wanted to do, and I didn’t start content creation with a clear path in mind. I started small, experimented, learned, and gave myself permission to grow into this career. The turning point came when I stopped waiting for the “right moment” and just started showing up consistently, for myself, my clients, and my community.

I’m most proud of the way I’ve built my brand organically and authentically. I’ve stayed true to my voice, created content I actually enjoy, and worked with brands I genuinely love. I’ve also learned to ask for help, outsource when needed, and take care of my mental health. Those lessons are what keep me going.

What I want the world to know about me is that I built this from scratch with hustle, passion, and purpose. I’m a proud Mexican-American woman from Houston, Texas, and I represent a generation of creatives who are redefining what success looks like. My brand, Evelyn Piña, is about real growth, real stories, and real results and I hope it inspires others to go after what they want, even if it feels uncertain at first.

I’m just getting started and I’m so excited for what’s next.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Omg if my best friend was visiting Houston for the week, we’d be outsideee! I’d plan a mix of the city’s best eats, scenic spots, and cute vibes that really show off the heart of H-Town.

We’d definitely start with dinner at Blue Sushi Sake Grill in Market Square, it’s one of my absolute faves. The energy, the ambiance, the food? 10/10 every time. And of course, no Houston trip is complete without margaritas from Guadalajara Mexican Grille, hands down some of the best margs in the city.

For daytime vibes, we’d do a quick run or walk at Memorial Park, especially in the morning when it’s peaceful. I love a downtown Main Street stroll, there’s something about the city that keeps you feeling young and inspired.

Coffee runs are essential, and right now I’m obsessed with Kona Reserve, it’s such a cute, underrated spot with amazing drinks. And for tacos? It’s gotta be El Taconazo taco truck, a real Houston gem.

We’d definitely check out Hermann Park and visit the Museum of Fine Arts and Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, both are perfect for a creative, inspiring day.

For nightlife, I’d take them to Heights Social, maybe a little rooftop situation at Z on 23, and wrap it up with a night out in Midtown or Montrose, always good vibes and something going on.

A few other musts:
– Shopping in the Galleria or Rice Village
– Sunset at Eleanor Tinsley Park with a downtown skyline view 😍

Houston has such a rich mix of culture, food, art, and nature, it’s impossible to be bored. The city is full of amazing people and hidden gems, and I’d love for my best friend to leave feeling as inspired by it as I do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I truly owe it all to my first job out of college at Elite Oral & Facial Surgery, led by Dr. Alex Bachoura, and my incredible manager Callie Painter. They played such a huge role in molding and training me into the professional I am today. Their guidance, trust, and encouragement pushed me to grow, step outside my comfort zone, and keep evolving. I will forever be grateful to them for believing in me early on.

My family has also been the backbone of everything, through college, career decisions, and life in general. Their support has carried me through every milestone.

I still remember when Dr. Bachoura reached out to me as he was growing his practice and needed help on the marketing side. As an International Business major, I had the flexibility to explore different fields, and at the time, I wasn’t even sure marketing was for me. But after just a year of working on his marketing team, I fell completely in love with it. I knew this was the path I wanted to flourish in.

Around 2022, I began experimenting with content creation, but I didn’t take it seriously or start making income from it until 2024, that’s when I really saw the potential. Fast forward to now in 2025, and I’m proudly managing four social media clients, working on my own brand as Evelyn Piña where I collaborate with companies on UGC, paid ads, and brand deals, and still supporting Dr. Bachoura’s practice as it continues to grow.

Of course, juggling it all can be overwhelming sometimes but then I remind myself: I once dreamed of simply knowing what I wanted to do with my life. And now, I’m living it. I’m beyond excited for the future and the endless opportunities ahead.

My motto?
Just. Keep. Going.
99 isn’t 100. That last 1% matters. And it counts.
