Hi Ezinne ‘Zini’, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly with any business owner, starting a business and making profit is always the end goal. But there is also that factor of bringing smiles to my clients faces knowing that I have done my job well. When I started AdornedbyZini, I told myself that I will be a household name, create beautiful balloons and let my creativity sell itself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
AdornedbyZini is an event styling company that started off with just balloon decor but is slowly becoming an intimate event decor company (as per popular demands now). What sets us apart from many other balloon styling company in Houston is our attention to detail and our customer service. We treat every install like royalty, whether you are paying $650 or $4k. We treat our clients with love and respect.

I am most excited about my growth in the past 1year. For now I am a one man show who is self taught and to see how far I’ve come, it’s amazing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

In any business, there are ups and downs, but as a business owner, you never let the down time way you down. You fall, dust yourself off and keep moving. Put all your faith, hope and trust in the Lord and He will see you through, but you also have to work hard because heaven helps those who help themselves..

My brand started off with my sisters baby shower in the middle of COVID in 2020, guests and friends saw something in me and my gifts and challenged me to start this business. Best decision ever as I truly enjoy what I do and I’m ready and excited to be the top 3 black balloon artist in Houston. Slowly but surely, we will get there.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not much of an outgoing type, I’m actually an introvert and that’s one of the beauties about AdornedbyZini. It has given me the opportunity to explore and experience places I would have never thought of visiting.

So I will say exploring downtown Houston

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit deserves all praise because without them, my businesses won’t be where they are right now.

Then my business coach, Mrs. Tamika Griffin who has been there to give me a listen ear and direct me.

My new sister/friend Chasity Dion with Declared Marketing. She keeps pushing and challenging me to go out of my comfort level.

Then my sisters who are my biggest supporters and biggest critics.
