We had the good fortune of connecting with Figen Baysal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Figen , what do you attribute your success to?
Never giving up! The way to success is not a smooth path. Some days you fell off somedays you have no energy to continue. Giving up always in your mind; telling you “Ok you’ve sacrificed enough you should leave it” I always prefer to silence that voice. My belief on not giving up is that “every day is a new day with new challenges and opportunities. Just focus on the opportunities.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I always happily accept new challenges and keep a positive attitude. I believe this is my differentiation point in my life. I always impressed with hard work and improvement. I believe if you have a continuous improvement it’s not important how fast you achieve. Path to success is never easy. You have to sacrifice from your family, from your social life, from your sleep and you always keep your positive attitude. Otherwise, every defeat will make you stop.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an O2 lover. I always like to be outside. If I go to a restaurant I would like to sit outside. So I would like to take my friend to some local beer gardens where we can chat drink and play. Since I live in Houston, TX we definitely go to a local steakhouse place. And beautiful parks to go for a long walk. To summarize it’s like eat good local food, drink at outside, walk outside 🙂 If its 1 week we should make some little road trips to San Antonio and Austin.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family. They are always my biggest supporters. Whenever I feel I am about to stop they push me from my back.
