Meet Flor Martinez | Balloon stylist & Event decorator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Flor Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Flor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For the longest I been passionate about party decorating. Any event I could decorate I will jump at the opportunity. I love creating unique decorations and letting my imagination flow. My thought process of starting my own business was a bit scary as many can relate. Is the “what if”, but I knew it was now or never. I push myself out of my comfort zone and just went for it. And I don’t regret any of it

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other business is my creativity. For every event I decorate I spend a lot of time planning and looking at all the details. I make sure my clients feel included through this entire journey. Starting a business like this is not as easy as it sounds. It takes a lot of time and patience. Not only do I run this business but I am also an educator and a full time mom. I am proud of how far I’ve made it managing all those things at the same . I’ve learned to not stress over things you have no control over. Things come with time. A business takes time to grow so I had to take it day by day and give it my best every time I went to decorate for a client. My desire to be the best at what I do has and been my drive. I want the world to know that is possible to start your own business. If you have an idea just do it. Push yourself and do what you love. It’s never too late!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is a very diverse city! who doesn’t love Houston lol there’s so much going on here. I love site seeing so favorite things I will definitely recommend is discovery green at night. They have scooters that you can rent and go around downtown. Also buffalo bayou park they have bicycles on site that you can rent. This park is huge and the view at night is beautiful! For food places there’s too many!! But if you guys want to try the best pizza I would recommend Spankys! Favorite seafood place will be captain toms’! Houston nightlife it’s a must! If you want to do something chill I will recommend truck yard. If you want to do something more outgoing aka party music I will
Recommend going to the bars at Washington.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I honestly give it to my family!. They had been supporting me though out this entire journey. From my dad, working late nights creating beautiful backdrops and marquee numbers to my siblings helping me blow balloons and setting up.
