We had the good fortune of connecting with Franchelle Leggett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franchelle, how does your business help the community?
AegisTech Cleaning helps the community by providing disinfectant cleaning and janitorial services that promote the well-being of their environment. Our services offer peace of mind to our clients, as they know that we have cleaned with their health in mind. Being a relationship-building company, we focus on performance operations tailored to each customer’s specific needs, providing a unique level of customization and support. We offer employment opportunities and training for people who want to support themselves. Our second chance program helps individuals rebuild their lives with steady work and job placements and also provides opportunities to develop skills for future career advancement both within and outside of our company. We have even helped some people start their cleaning businesses.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being passionate in helping others is what sets me apart from other business owners. Of course, I’m in business to make money but I in business to help people. Rather its other aspiring staff, individuals or the customers we service my focus is how can I help you. Nothing about entrepreneurship is easy, especially being a woman in business. I’ve dealt with so many unfair experiences because of my race, or being too knowledgeable, or being too ambitious that I decided to become my own boss and create a fair environment for others.
Just like other people I’ve had failed relationships and life setbacks that should have discouraged me, but I never folded under pressure. I picked up the pieces and rebuilt and rebranded to be stronger and better. I Started betting on myself when I got tired of settling for what someone else thought I should have.
Business wise I took time out to learn what I did not know. I worked on perfecting my craft. I worked with others that had what I needed so that I could gain and multiply with them.
Overcoming the challenges, I faced I worked on my spirituality…. I developed a mental toughness that had to learn how to fight off depression or mental health issues so that it didn’t hold me back. But along the way I learned it’s ok to fail because I learned from it. I learned it’s ok to speak up for what I needed vs bawling up and hiding in fear.
This world will make you feel incapable, and I learned I’m capable of doing anything I believe I can do. I learned to be humble because sometimes being loud is only an illusion to others but it’s what you can prove. What I want the world to know about my brand is when you see AegisTech Cleaning you see passion, you see an honest company.
With AegisTech Cleaning you see a company that’s built to help them as a customer get what they need for their health. What I want the world to know about my story is as a single parent, 3x domestic abuse survivor, and mental health advocate YOU CAN MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. You can validate yourself without the acceptance of everybody but gain the respect of others. Nothing is not capable, and nobody is standing in your way unless you allow them. As a mother, I always say I’m building for my generations to come but I realize I’m doing this for me, for my own validation.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Omg!! I would start with Cidercade for their video games and light beer. It’s only 10 bucks to get in but unlimited play on the video games and the food trucks when leaving out is like the perfect tipoff for the night. Breakfast would always be at home where I cook for them. Something that’s her favorite and just hangout. Then we probably go to tiktok or ig and find new lunch and dinner spots to try out. Most definitely were going to the beach over at El Jardin Beach. It’s hard to say everything would be planned out to the tea. Were adventurous so it’s the feel of the wind for us. But without a doubt indoor skydiving would be a must and a day or pampering.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a community of women that has been a support for me these past couple of years. However, my mother has been my #1 supporter. I always say nothing about me is self made. When you see me you see a village of people that has made me who I am. My mom brought the village. My mom was the first business woman I ever knew. She has been my rock, my heart, my judge, and jury. Never did she allow me to settle not even with myself. She was my first customer and helped me brand myself as a representation of greatness. Even when I started having kids she took my responsibilities in some areas and made them her own so I can work on me. She witnessed my hurt, my gains, my conquer, and my losses and never made me feel less of a woman or mother. I remember when I decided to make myself homeless in another whole state away from home she was so furious and said she didnt understand why I would put myself in such agony. I told her I had to find my strength as great as hers and this was between me and God. She supported. This past year I had other inspirational women showed me that you walk in your season with your head held high and don’t drop my crown. These women too are mothers, business owners, and community activist.
