We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriel Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriel, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
My whole perspective on that is giving up is NEVER an option. Go back to the drawing board and find better plays, but you don’t give up. There’s a quote Oprah Winfrey once said, “Never give up on yourself because there is so much more for you to keep giving” that’s how you know. Don’t give up, keep going!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m actually in law enforcement. I’ve been in law enforcement for about 6 years now. I also have my own business, “Naturally Kinkz!” It’s a haircare line for men, women and kids. We carry shampoos, conditioners, leave-in conditioner, edge control and also a daily beard wash and leave in beard conditioner. I’m most proud of my accomplishments and being able to over come different obstacles to get me in this position. Hard work, prayer and a the ability to be strong willed is what got me here. I’m excited to share my passion with the World and help someone else accomplish their goals along the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Omg it’s so many places to choose from. Let’s see… First you have to come trail riding. I’m apart of the best trail riding group “Non-Stop Riderz” out of 5th ward. Shout out to my president and First Lady Marcus and Sandy. Trail riding is like a totally different lifestyle. It’s a whole different kind of fun. As far as food and hang out places I love 5th level, J&J lounge has some of the best burgers, plush bar and grill, Turkey leg hut, lost and found for good food, drinks and hookah. I also enjoy taste bar, seaside and the address. I’ve been hearing so many good things about Chapman and Kirby I can’t wait to go and try them out. It’s actually so many places here to enjoy that’s just some of the few..

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my late grandmother, Frances Sanders who recently passed away from cancer. My grandmother was my best friend as well as my greatest inspiration. I love you girl #cancersucks
