We had the good fortune of connecting with Gason Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gason, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to gain independence from working a 9-5. I wanted to be in control of my own career and not have a limited income potential.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my company Full of Flavor, LLC in 2000 and what I believe sets us apart is our commitment to customer service and culinary excellence. Before we ever engage in the dining experience the customer knows to expect the best because of our professional and highly responsive administrative staff. I have the client roster I have today because of hard work, consistency and trustworthiness. It wasn’t easy, and when there were challenges I have relied on my amazing team that shares my vision and keeps this well oiled machine moving smoothly. One of the main leadership lessons I’ve learned is to give my team the tools they need to succeed so we can all be win. I want the world to know that we are a stellar personal chef company that specializes in fine dining experiences and that we are active food and cookware brand ambassadors open to new opportunities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting New Orleans I would take them to work out at Lagniappe Fitness CrossFit Gym, City Park to play tennis, then we’ll hit the city. We will definitely visit New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood which is one of my favorite lunch spots, then we’ll go to Acme for charbroiled oysters and grab end the day with a New Orleans Hurricane. On other days I’d take him to a neighborhood spot called Li’l Dizzy’s Cafe, Boil Seafood House, Mr. B’s Bistro and Restaurant R’evolution. You definitely have to catch a second line and take a French Quarter lighted bike tour, a swamp tour is a must as well as live Jazz on Frenchman Street and Snug Harbor is the spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad and good friend Dana Deutsch (Food and Beverage Consultant) are my mentors and have encouraged me along the way.
