We had the good fortune of connecting with Ghayda Yaghi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ghayda, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal of my profession would be to leave a legacy that my kids and my family can be proud of. Working along side A-list celebrities and high profile individuals is another goal I want to achieve. By the end of my career I would want to leave a legacy for my kids, that is to be respected, understand what giving back to all communities mean. Also, to be that individual who is inspiring to everyone. I want to be able to look back and know I did everything in my power to complete that goal of which my dreams and desires have been met. I want to look back and know I was able to plant the seed and create a respectable and humbled path that any generation can look and aspire to be whatever it is their heart desires.

What should our readers know about your business?
I got to where I am today business-wise by always leading with kindness and walking with grace. Was it easy? No it was not. However, to become successful does not happen over night. You would need to find what works for you. What works for me is being authentic, genuine, kind, understanding and compassionate.

The challenges I overcame are simple, I chose not to let these challenges hinder my success or get in the way of my goals, dreams and desires. Having a mental discipline and way of thinking allows you to get out of your own way.

Lessons that I have learned a long the way are the following: do not let your kindness cloud your judgment, At the end of the day , we need to keep in mind this is a business. Knowing what your values are and standing by them will lead you in to the unknown. However, you will never know what the unknown is if you live in fear or never take a risk. I learned to step back when needed and trusting the process to understand we are only humans not machines. Lastly, most important lesson is to take care of our own well being.

I want the world to know that everyone has a story. Going through challenges or obstacle do not ever allow it to discourage you from living your truth, believe in yourself and give yourself grace and understanding that things don’t happen over night.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week long trip these are a few of the places I would visit in my down time.

– National Parks
– Moody Gardens
– San Antonio
– Surside Beach
– Brazos Hiking Trail
– Galleria Mall
– Walking around City Centre
– The Gelato Ice cream shop
– Discovery Green

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out quite a few individuals. Mejdi Yaghi, David Tutera, Joey Toth, Nada Lena Nasserdine Robin Williams, who is also running for the future Mayor Houston 2023, A couple of speakers from the David Tutera Experience, Dzigbordi Kwaku and Andrea Isabelle Lucas, my parents along with the David Tutera & Joey Toth Mentorship community. I want to start by shouting out my husband who has been by my side in supporting my journey from day one.

David and Joey for allowing me to find my inner strength of confidence during their continued education from their mentorship and experience. They always remind us to “Stand Up, Stand Out, Be bold and Rip that band aid right off when ever you are nervous.” To find Joy in the Journey means to live in the moment, not live in the past or wondering about the future.

To Nada Lena who helped me as not only as my friend but business strategist by shifting and pivoting my business name. To Robin, who has taught me so much in being a humanitarian with compassion and grace.

Dee continues to inspire with her words of wisdom. Andrea who has helped me find peace from my past and to allow myself to let go and live in the now, for we do not know what tomorrow may bring. I would also like to shout out my parents for raising me to become the person I am today. Lastly, I want to shoutout Sheila Swift Kahe`, Vilma Villavicencio, Brenda Bergeron, Lewis Grell, Kimyatta Evans and many others.
