We had the good fortune of connecting with Hamisi Musitwa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hamisi, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
For me I had fallen in love with two craft at sight , professional graphic designer and musical artist on weekends, I was currently working as a full time graphic designer and also due to some financial status a Media Consultant, believe in me with passion to deliver good results and also get time to go to the studio and record my masterpiece, at least that’s how I call it , was not a walk in the park I had to sacrifice alot including my partial fun time and lots of sleepless nights

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brand Volvexzshawa in the early 2017 was not lucrative in terms of capital and I had to go through a lot of obstacles in order to withstand them , there was a point I even got discouraged after I reached out to some of my friends I used to call my inner circle, friends I considered as family, turned a black eye on me when I shared my Music Catalog and requested them to support it just by sharing it most left me un-read and some that I was lucky gave me a seen, the journey has not been easy and with this year both Artist Recap from Spotify and YouTube Music with over 197,547k Streams have really uplifted my spirit and promise to put more effort to platinum

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend would visit me my only vibe place that I found Peace with is at Karura Forest I definitely recommend it full of breeze and breath taking I always find peace there and also one can see monkeys that are totally friendly and Entertaining

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The first year was not easy for me especially a Second class degree Student in Finance with IT who decided to dedicate his life to music as a rapper, my family was not happy about it and the only person that was there for me on my rainy days was my Mom , to an extent that she bought me a Bluetooth speaker so that she could play my Music and listen and let the neighbors know her son his talented.
