We had the good fortune of connecting with Haven Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haven, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is apart of the modeling industry. Since I have made 13, I have been pushed to take risks and step outside of my comfort zone. Auditions (for modeling, acting and theater) are a risk, self tapes are a risk. So are casting calls and solo performances in front of judges. I just take a deep breath and aim to never disrespect God, myself nor my parents. I always strive to be the best version of who I was created to be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As many already know, my motto is “Be the best version of who you were created to be.” I remind myself of this everyday. That’s what I am aiming towards. I’m moving through life trying to make every day a great one. God speed, not my speed. I recently wrote a chapter of a book coming out later this year called “The Book of Golden Treasures.” Check out our website www.bookofgoldentreasures.com. This book will change your life. Myself along with several other amazing co-authors have been working hard and pouring our hearts out. Here’s a little secret…my chapter is dedicated to my Grammy. She passed away in 2014.
My dad and I also started a business called Krafty Kreashions. My dad is an artist so we are trying to combine some of our creativity and putting it on t-shirts. It’s a work in progress, but we have posted a few of our projects on Instagram @kraftykreashions. Check us out!
I am currently in the first chair section of the beginner orchestra. I am auditioning for symphony. Fingers crossed!!!
I place a lot of pressure on myself to be the best so every day is a challenge.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Now keep in mind this is coming from a teenager. A 13 year old at that, LOL!!!! I would take them to the rooftop movie outdoor theater and we would bring blankets and buy all of the snacks. We would explore Hermann Park because the scenery is AMAZING! Buffalo Bayou has great biking trails and the Cistern is very cool (especially when they turn off the lights and you sing to the top of your lungs). Bounce Bounce indoor trampoline park is just a must visit. Cinemark Tinseltown has these seats called D-BOX. They vibrate as the action happens in the movie. Love those! Of course we have to eat so we would taste some seafood at Pappadeaux. I’m originally from New Orleans, Louisiana so we would definitely have to eat seafood. Dessert at Crumble Cookie, roller skating at Bear Creek Roller Rink, ice skating at Memorial City Mall or the Galleria (can’t go wrong with either). A little shopping at the Fairfield Outlet Mall in Cypress and definitely have to eat pizza at Mod’s. We would end the week riding go karts at Andretti with a little bowling and arcades at either Main Event or Itz. I’m ready for my friends to come visit just naming all of these fun places to go lol!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a heavily weighted question and I really have to be careful about how I answer this, but here goes…I serve a God who never leaves me. Sometimes I think he may get tired of hearing my voice because I call out to him so much. I have parents that support me through it all. Sometimes I get annoyed when they give me advice and I know they are right. Ha! But honestly I know that they love me so much and I can’t even imagine where I would be without them. They sacrifice and open the door for my brother and I to try as many new things as we can. They said we only have one life to live so we better make the best of it. My grandparents, family, friends, my Pastor and church family, my agency (Skin I’m In Model and Talent Agency), coworkers of my parents and grandparents and so so many others I have met along the way who have shown me so much love and support. Since moving to Houston I have been so blessed to cross paths with people who have had a huge impact on my life….modeling coaches, producers, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, modeling and pageant friends and so many others. Honestly, I’m blessed. I say that with so much pride because again, none of this would be possible without God.
