Meet Haylee Ungaro | Owner + Executive Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Haylee Ungaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Haylee, every day, we know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Believe it or not, my business journey started right in the car! In 2021, on the way to a Mother’s Day dinner, my husband completely swept me off my feet all over again — he turned to me and said, “I started your LLC.” Just like that, he proposed a brand-new chapter where I could finally say “I do” to my biggest dream. Ever since we tied the knot ourselves in 2018, weddings and events have had my whole heart. His unwavering belief in me gave me the perfect “something new,” and it’s been the spark behind every celebration I’ve brought to life since.
As a Texas native, hospitality runs deep in my veins, and I’ve always had a gift for turning chaos into calm — but weddings? That’s where I truly come alive. There’s just something indescribable about watching a couple’s vision unfold: lush blooms that take your breath away, tablescapes that make guests gasp, tearful vows that have everyone reaching for tissues, and dance floors that stay packed all night long.
When you choose me, you’re not just hiring a planner. You’re getting someone who will walk you down the planning aisle hand in hand, tie up every last loose end with a perfectionist’s touch, and be your forever hype-girl — cheering you on, fixing your train, topping off your champagne, and making sure your day is every bit as magical as you’ve dreamed.
Because when it’s all said and done and you’re running through that sparkler exit, I want you to be thinking, “That was the best day of our lives.” And I’ll be right there, beaming, knowing I helped make that moment happen.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my genuine passion and the heart I pour into every wedding — I don’t just plan events, I create experiences that reflect each couple’s unique love story. I’m that planner who’s as excited about your floral choices as you are, who notices the smallest details like the perfect napkin fold or the exact timing of your grand entrance, and who’s committed to making your day stress-free and unforgettable.
This business is my full-time job and my baby. I don’t just work for you — I laugh with you, cry with you, and celebrate every high and hold your hand through every challenge. When it comes to your wedding day, I’m all in.
Getting here wasn’t always easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced moments of doubt, overwhelm, and the challenge of balancing dreams with reality. But my husband’s unwavering belief in me and my relentless love for weddings kept me moving forward. I learned that patience, adaptability, and relentless attention to detail are key — that sometimes, the magic happens in the moments you didn’t expect, and that listening closely to my clients’ needs makes all the difference.
I’m incredibly proud of the trust couples place in me and the glowing moments when I see their vision come alive exactly how they imagined — sometimes even better. That’s what fuels my passion every single day.
What I want the world to know is this: I’m not just your planner. I’m your teammate, your cheerleader, and your forever hype-girl. I’m here to walk you down the planning aisle hand in hand, tying up every loose end so you can soak in every magical moment — stress-free and full of joy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, and Houston still surprises me every time. I’d definitely start at The Rustic-Downtown — it’s my favorite spot for great food, cold drinks, and live music. The vibe is so laid-back and fun, it’s the perfect welcome.
For shopping, I love taking people to Rice Village. It’s got all these cute boutiques and local shops. Then we’d hit The Heights for some awesome vintage and antique finds — seriously, you can spend hours exploring there.
We’d also spend some time outdoors at Buffalo Bayou Park. The skyline views are amazing, and it’s just a great place to relax.
For dinner, I’m all about Geraldine’s — delicious food and a great atmosphere. Or, if we want something casual and creative, Velvet Taco is where it’s at.
And to wind down after a busy day, I’d take them to Axelrad. They’ve got hammocks, local beers, and a super chill vibe — perfect for just kicking back.
Houston’s got so many hidden gems, and I love showing people around. There’s always something new to discover!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my biggest shoutout goes to my husband. From day one, he’s been my rock, my sounding board, and my forever hype-man. He didn’t just encourage me to start this business — he literally made it happen! That moment was more than a sweet gesture; it was his way of saying, “I believe in you completely,” and it gave me the courage to chase this dream with everything I’ve got.
I also have to give endless love to my family and friends, who’ve cheered me on, trusted me to plan their own special days, and picked up countless calls when I needed advice or just someone to celebrate (or vent) with. And of course, I owe so much gratitude to my incredible clients — couples who’ve welcomed me into one of the most important days of their lives and trusted me to bring their vision to life. Watching their joy is the greatest reminder of why I do what I do.
This journey is so much bigger than me, and I’m forever grateful for every person who’s played a part in helping me live my passion.
