Meet Hector Perez | Bass Player

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hector Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hector, why did you pursue a creative career?
When i first started to pursue music, i wanted to be able to have people lose themselves for a little and have a good time while listening to the music i am playing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Not what would set me apart from others, but i do know that i love what i do, and i do what i love. To see people having a great time while jamming to our music gives a great satisfaction to what i do. Lessons to be learn, DO NOT KNOCK OTHERS THAT DO THE SAME THING YOU DO. Do not think you are better than others, cause there will always be someone who is better than you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If it was the summer time, Minute Made Park to take in a baseball game for sure. We have a great museum district, a couple of Outlet Malls, Brother’s Taco for breakfast and maybe Tit’s Tacos as well. We will be eating at Torcheys Tacos for sure, and probably out to Acadia Bar and Grill and BFE Rock Club for some cool jams. Lake Livingston or Lake Houston to get out on the water.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Natalie has been and still is my biggest supporter. She encourages me to keep going and to keep pushing what i love to do.
