We had the good fortune of connecting with Hermika Profit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hermika, why did you pursue a creative career?
To be honest, I didn’t know that this talent existed. I quit my regular job to take care of my son in 2015 when he was diagnosed with Autism. Got married in 2016, new home 2017, had my daughter 2018 and in 202o I started creating and designing shirts. It came so naturally and it was so therapeutic to craft. I started only making things for my family and occasions at first. I was getting so many compliments that I decided to start a business and now I’m here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I make custom t-shirts, masks, tumblers and much more. I love making custom items because it is so personal. I would say what sets me apart from others is being a person of my word and a great work ethic. I’m proud that I took the first step to start a business and excited to share new projects I have been working on. I’m here today because of God and my faith. Also, I’m husband as well who made this dream a reality. It was not easy at all because I’m also a mother of a son with Autism which will be 11 soon and a soon to be 3 year old daughter. It is very challenging juggling everything but so worth it. I mediate, pray, workout, and set goals each week. I learned I’m human and it’s okay to rest and say NO! I love what I do but my health and family comes first. I’m outgoing, kind and family oriented. I love being around likeminded people as well. Divine Creations is here to service you and you won’t be disappointed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
These places are a must… Max’s Wine Dive and Grace’s for Breakfast/Brunch, Star Cinema Grill for a midday lunch and movie, The Galleria, Pearland Town Center, City Center, and Lucky Strike Bowling on San Jacinto Street Downtown, Downtown Aquarium, and Houston Zoo.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank first and foremost God; my husband (Kendrick Profit), my kids (Adrian Massie and Kennedi Profit) my mom (Angela Waters), my father-in-law (Edward Profit) my brother and sister (Donte &Robin Cherry), my sister (Monique Cherry) and my best friend (Faith Marsh) for all their support and encouraging words. They have been with me from day one and I’m so grateful and blessed to have them in my life.
