Hi The Slash Talk Podcast, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We created the Slash Talk Podcast as a way to interact and meet new members in the Horror/Cosplay Community. We are very passionate about horror media and have always wanted to create our own form of horror content. With the video and podcast content we produce, we are excited to generate new opportunities to meet those who inspire us at conventions and continue to produce quality content that the horror community can enjoy with us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We started as Individual Horror Content Creators and became familiar with each other through local conventions. We then decided to team up to create the Slash Talk Podcast. We are most proud of being the only podcasts to portray slasher characters in high quality gear throughout the entirety of our episodes. Since starting our podcast, we learned that most other content creators are willing to support newer creators and collaborate on projects; all it takes is the bravery to ask. We want our viewers and listeners to know that we are still continuing to grow and improve, and our “Day One Viewers” will be able to see that growth in real time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would HIGHLY recommend attending the Houston Horror Film Festival that occurs every year. They showcase amateur horror films and offer prizing in a competitive format for them. There is also a wide variety of horror themed vendors. If you visit while HHFF isn’t occuring, we would recommend the Houston Marq*E Regal Edwards Theater, as they often host large movie premier events with costumed actors present and a VIP Lounge with a self-serve popcorn machine! PopFancy Cafe is also an incredibly fun experience found in Chinatown with different thematic foods based on pop culture media every month!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are inspired by a variety of Horror Content Creators, including but not limited to the band Ice Nine Kills for their inspiring takes on Slasher flicks in a musical setting, @TheMerkins on Social Media with their creative skits and musical parodies, @RottenReviews on Social Media for their mix of the Horror Media and Haunt Acting, and The Ghosty Gang (y’all know who you are) for being day one homies.
