We had the good fortune of connecting with Imani Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Imani, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Okay so the reason why I started my lash business was because I was trying to find something to do. I’ve always been driven to start new journeys. I started doing hair at 15 but then realized I didn’t like it so I took a lash class when I was 17 & went from there.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a lash artist is all about creativity. I strive to achieve unique styles while lashing. What I love about my sets are that they last long & the natural fluff I bring. It’s never been easy being a lash artist. I’ve taught myself what I know today. All it takes is practice & patience. Consistency as well! Definitely with Mani M Lashes, you’ll get your money worth.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely go for a spa day. Milk &. Honey or Post Oak hotel spa. Go do a little decor shopping. I love west elm & Tuesday morning! Shopping period is my thing lol. Probably go to taste bar or graces, food be banging plus the vibes are good.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shout out to my brother Anthony! Without him I wouldn’t have taken a lash class. I want to give a shout out to my parents for believing in me even when things got hard!
