Meet Jael Reedy | Hair stylist & cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jael Reedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jael, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the Idea for my Business when, one day I was asked to do a child’s hair who was adopted. Her adoptive parents were a different race and did not know how to do her mixed textured hair. They then told me the girls at her school were making fun of her because of her hair at school and it would make her cry and that broke my heart, cause no kid shouldn’t feel beautiful because their hair is different. So therefore, I Took all my trades I learned and put them together to create my Organic Hair care Line Called Raw and Flawless. After I Noticed that a lot of women, Men and Kids around me from young to old all around the world all suffered from the same things with hair. For example, dry hair, oily hair, dry scalp, cradle cap, alopecia, damaged hair etc. I took what I learned in school and combined it with my knowledge for science and came up with a hair care system for worldwide hair troubles that effect people every day. Especially people who like to do more less maintenance to their hair like wash and go’s.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My hair Product line sets me apart from every hair care line in the world and yes, I said in the world meaning worldwide because, I am the first black owned hair care line with sea moss that is both vegan and organic, for women, men, and children. And I also offer tear free. products for children ages 1 and up. Also, my Products are made for all textures of hair. My Sea Moss Co-wash and Hair Growth oil is a lot of my customers favorite. The hair growth oil not only grows out your hair and makes it smell good and moisturizes but it also helps a lot of patients with alopecia hair grow back and clients who had/or has cancer start to growing their hair back without chemicals especially due to them having to go through chemotherapy. The Sea moss Co-wash is the best it goes on hair before you shampoo the hair to deep condition the hair and detangle it. It detangles hair so well after not being washed or maintained haven’t been brushed out prior or from taking down braids, it even good for removing dread locs and removes knots and tangle from hair with minimal shedding and stressing of the hair. Also, the most ultimate amazing thing about my products are they have no alcohols or parabens or harmful chemicals or preservatives in them and still have a 1-year shelf life. I Am where I am today because of my hard work and consistency with my business and believing in my business and saving up to start my business. Starting a Business was not easy especially when it comes to products being used on people it took me about 3 years to complete starting my business by getting my products tested in the lab, getting legal documentation for it etc. But now I can say it was all worth it and I Love the Business I have built today.
I started out being a Dental assistant Complaining about working long hours for a company who didn’t appreciate their staff and not being able to spend time with my child, to now running my own business and still making sure my employees have time for their selves and there family and still be able to make money even from home. I also offer everyday working people a way to just earn extra money through my affiliate program which is on my site and ever since this pandemic I’ve seen a lot of great things end for people so I wanted to make a way for those who are having hard times still find a means and a way to make money and work for themselves as well so that they can control how much money they make even if they were to lose their job ; because the economy is constantly changing every day.

The lessons I have learned along the way is if you’re waiting on your family and friends to support your business you will fail. your biggest supporters are people you don’t know and haven’t even met yet. those are the people that are going to support your business and buy from you and help you succeed in business. Also get out there and do things on your own and don’t be afraid to start something by yourself. If you wait for others, you will never get your goals met or have the business of your dreams it takes you to believe in yourself, your business, and your brand to make it come alive.

I would like the world to know that this is and will be the next biggest haircare company for years to come and it will not just be a company with just some hair products there with be hair education behind these products. also, this will not just be jobs for workers it will be a way to create generational wealth for the generations to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were to come in town one of my favorite places to go eat is The Taste bar, they have good food and drinks and never disappoint I also like to go when they have live music nights. I also like to go to midtown and go club hopping it’s a nice scene and I usually go to lounges there’s ones to go to different days of the week it depends on what kind of music you like. also, I like getting tattoos and piercings with my friends, so I like to go to black ink Houston. I also like going shopping which i like to shop at The Pop Up Collective with beauti beads and bangles for my designer bags, shoes and clothes, and i like to get my perfumes from signature touch there as well there’s a lot a great vendors in the store. another great places i like to eat is dak and bop it’s like Korean American and it its very good their cocktails are awesome to and very reasonably priced and to top it off I like to got to churroholic for churros they make them fresh to order and who doesn’t like a hot churro with ice cream.

I would love to give a shout my Houston Dream team and Supporters who support my Business and come to my events and overall buy my Products and have been loyal clients and customers since I have Moved to Houston from Chicago.
