We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamicka Jethani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamicka, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My initial thought was – “Do I want to continue to work someone else’s dream while neglecting my own or step out on faith to do what I love?” It took me some time, but I chose the latter! I have always wanted to start my own business and be an entrepreneur. The thought of building a brand from the ground up and watching it flourish before my eyes brings excitement to me. Since I was a child, my brother and I would imagine ourselves as business owners running our own restaurant using stuffed animals as the people. Lol! I laugh about it now, but it is known that what you enjoyed doing as a child is most likely what you’re meant to do as an adult. With that being said, it is enate in me to make a living for myself while leaving a legacy for the next generation.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My brand is centered around all things Jamicka and everything important to me. I want my brand to reflect my faith in God, the highs and lows of life, and my fertility journey. My heart is to be a light to others in this dark world through my virtual page and blog. When I can put a smile on someone’s face and give them a sense of hope, my job is done! I love when I get DMs from women who are walking through a challenging place in their life, and once they read my blog or IG caption, they feel optimistic again.

I am most proud that I have been able to connect with other women walking through their journey to children. We have been able to encourage one another along the way and that makes my heart happy.

One thing I have learned along the way is that you’re not called to everyone. Some people will love your content and others will hate it. But that’s okay. All we have to do is stay true to who we are and whoever’s life we are to touch, we will. We’re not forcing anything.

One of my biggest challenges is consistency due to life. It’s always in my heart to post content but unfortunately, it doesn’t always happen. However, I have come up with a strategy that I believe will help me to post more and attract more supporters.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to my husband for supporting me on my dream of being a blogger. He takes most of my pictures for me and has even given me some blogging ideas. Having a supportive and praying spouse is so important to fulfilling your destiny. Hubby, I appreciate you! I would also like to send a shoutout to my supporters. They are everything to me. I appreciate the love, encouragement, DMs, likes and shares.. all of it. I have been able to connect with some amazing women on my blogging journey and look forward to meeting more.
