We had the good fortune of connecting with Janel Yglesias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janel, how do you think about risk?
I consider myself a calculated risk taker. Taking a risk involves straying out of your comfort zone and stepping into the unknown. I have done this a few times in my personal life as well as my professional life. It involves confronting your fear and taking a leap of faith and praying & hoping that everything will work out for the better. Sometimes, the hardest part is keeping the faith that everything will work out for the better – but you just have to keep going and trust the process. Some of the best moments of my life came to be because I decided to take a risk, a leap of faith.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am licensed Real Estate agent in the state of Texas and Florida. I specialize in helping clients in the cities of Houston, Texas and Miami, Florida. I take pride in what I do and treat every single client as if they were my only one – white glove service, undivided attention. In an industry where there are about 26,900 real estate agents in Houston and more than 55,000 in Miami, you are constantly having to find ways to stand out and strive everyday to provide the best service for your clients. What sets me apart from other agents is my work ethic. I have come to realize and also see from client feedback that my work ethic is unmatched. I am a problem solver and I bring deals to the closing table. I make sure that if you are working with me, we have exhausted all of the options possible to get you the result you were looking for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now a days I am splitting my time between Houston & Miami. If you are visiting me in Houston, one of the first things I would do is definitely take you out to an Astros Game at Minute Made Park. I love baseball and the ambiance and experience you get at the ball park watching a good baseball game with a Nathan’s Hot Dog on hand is like no other. Next, we would most likely go check out the museums. Houston is a city that is very culturally rich and one of my favorite parts about the city is The Museum District. Spend and afternoon walking through Hermann Park then discovering history, science and art is a must when in Houston. Lastly, finish off the night with some authentic Texas BBQ at Killen’s Barbecue on 3613 E Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581. That’s a great day in Houston for me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, my husband, son, my family, closest friends as well as my clients deserve all the praise in the world. Without them – I wouldn’t be me and the success I’ve had would definitely not have been possible without my circle that provides me with much needed support and love. My rock is my husband. He goes above and beyond for our family.
