We had the good fortune of connecting with Janet Adebayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janet, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was basically to make an impact and to make a differences in my family.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Janet Adebayo, I was born in Nigeria. All my life, I have always wanted to do something creative and inspiring. My journey as a hairstylist started when I was 15 years old in Nigeria, where I got the opportunity to attend vocational training on how to braid while attending high school at the same time. At first, people thought I was crazy for having so much on my plate I wanted to prove to myself that I can do what I love. Also, I have a passion for acting, which is an accomplishment in my life as a hairstylist. I am currently pursuing my love for children as a pediatric medical social worker at the University of Houston while attending a school of drama in Los Angeles alongside with been a braider in Houston. Getting to this stage in my business is all about God’s blessings, favor, and hard work. It’s not easy trying to pursue my dreams as an actress and trying to build my own brand. My goal is to help the less privileged children in the United States with my business and children back home in Nigeria. For those children who do not have the opportunity to pursue what they love my goal is to inspire, help and encourage as many as possible. I want the world to know that I am so grateful for what God has bestowed upon me as a hairstylist and I am also grateful for their support so far in my life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would show them how beautiful houston is, would take them to kiss restaurant, bowling and all sort of fun places

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Basically all thanks to. God for making my business a very successful one.
