We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarnell Garland and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jarnell, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Overtime as my clientele began to increase I had to learn effective time management skills. Things that I would just “wing” before now have to be prioritized and written down to avoid being over looked. By doing this, I’ve found myself to be less stressed and overwhelmed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve gotten to this position I’m in today by continuously finding ways to perfect my craft. Rather it be signing up for a class or watching hours of YouTube tutorials in my spare time. Although, I’m not where I want to be just yet. I have appreciated and embraced every obstacles that I’ve overcame to get where I am.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I’d take a friend visiting Houston would be to a nice patio brunch/lunch in the city, preferably one with live music and nice scenery. We’d also, visit a spa and hang out by the pool
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My customers are my biggest support system. The amount of love and appreciation they show for my work is amazing. They are constantly reposting or referring others to my business and pushing me to be the greatest version of myself.
