We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin Guillory and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My most important factor, and the thing that pushed me into overdrive is my daughter Zahrara. I just remember doing her hair, and watching it get longer, and longer and thinking I need to make sure I keep my baby fly at all times. I knew I always wanted to do something that helps people. When I was young I always thought that would be healthcare, but I’m so happy to have found an alternate route! I absolutely love making people feel beautiful., and I love the way I feel while creating a style or a cut. It may have taken me a little longer than others, but I definitely found something I’m passionate about, and I can thank my daughter for that.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jas’d Up Beauty is important to me because it’s more than hair to me. It’s a movement, It’s a statement, it’s all me! I want to show the world what I can do, and who I am. I treat everyone’s hair as if it’s my own! There’s not to many stylist out there who care about your actual hair.
You have to stop comparing, stop the negative thoughts. Yes the beauty industry is huge you just have to find that thing that sets you apart from others! It’s all about how you treat people, and how good you are at what you do. I feel like my drive, personality, and creative sets me apart from others. There no one else like you, so every time you get to thinking “oh, there’s so many people doing this already” just remember there’s no one like YOU doing it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My ideal of good time is always the people I’m around! I love getting out. Good energies always make the adventure better.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout interview to my family! Without them I would not be where I am today! They are always willing to help, and pushing me to go after my dreams. I love, and appreciate you guys dearly!
