Meet Jasmine Jarman | Music Artist, Dancer, Model, and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Jarman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

I’ve been passionate about music ever since I was a little girl. It has always been something that I’ve always wanted to do but I didn’t feel confident enough to do it. Once I started building my confidence and loving myself for who I truly am, I began to do the things that I was too afraid to do, such as starting my music career and starting my own beauty business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

The process of becoming an artist was not easy, I had to learn a lot. Being an artist is more than just creating music, there’s also a business aspect of it that one must consider especially if you plan on doing it full time. I went through many challenges when it came to releasing my first single, but I did not let it stop me from pushing through and doing what I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a matter of how bad do you want it? The lessons that I’ve learned along the way is to just keep going and not give up. I’m just getting started in the music business so it will take time for me to get to where I want to be in life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I would take them to the oceanfront in Virginia beach. There’s a lot of fun things to do there and good restaurants to eat at. Who doesn’t love a good beach day? I would also take her to town center where all of the good restaurants are at. I like doing fun activities so I would take her to Apex or to iFly, which is indoor skydiving.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to first shoutout both of my parents. My sisters, Deyzaney and Joy. One of my good friends who is a dope hairstylist and dancer, Kamari. My girlfriend, Mehkeiyah. My best friend who has stood by my side and supported me every step of the way, Jordyn. My other close friend who is an amazing artist, Kamera Tyme. Two amazing dancers who have pushed me beyond my limits, Jordan and Nadiya. And my friends from work who always know how to lift up my spirit, Diquan, Verinia, Sidney, Paul and Jaylen.
