Meet Javan Plummer | Executive Producer/ Investor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Javan Plummer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Javan, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brands has always been a commitment to authenticity, collaboration, and storytelling. I founded Houston Runway to create a platform that celebrates diversity and inclusivity while showcasing innovative designs and talent. It’s not just a fashion show, it’s a movement that prioritizes true role models who can make a difference in the community and the world.
My creative direction, guided by a deep passion for storytelling, has been a driving force across all my ventures. Collaborating with talents like Sergio Balderas has elevated my vision, blending creative artistry with a structured approach to event production.
Each of my brands plays a key role in this journey:
Dynamic Visual Productions (DVP) specializes in videography that brings these stories to life, whether it’s a fashion show or a brand’s journey.
Dynamic X Magazine (DXM) had a successful trial run in 2024, proving the potential for curated, groundbreaking experiences. It’s set to return stronger in 2025, aiming to redefine entertainment and live events.
My partnership with Gio Photo Service (GPS) ensures every moment is captured with precision and creativity, enhancing the visual appeal of everything I produce.
Beyond the brands, I’ve leveraged the lessons from my earlier work in the industry, as reflected in my IMDb credits, to build a foundation of excellence. The key to success lies in bringing together talented teams, staying innovative, and ensuring every project is rooted in purpose and community impact.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Thank you for giving me the chance to share. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Yahweh for blessing me with the creativity, vision, and perseverance to bring my dreams to life. None of this would be possible without that foundation of faith.
What truly sets me and my brands apart is the focus on creating experiences that go beyond fashion or production, they’re rooted in purpose. Houston Runway is a platform that redefines what it means to walk the runway, highlighting inclusivity, individuality, and empowerment. It’s not just a show; it’s a celebration of the bold and the brilliant, and our upcoming High Street Fashion show on April 12th will embody that theme perfectly. Expect a mix of high-end luxury and edgy streetwear, all brought together in a way that challenges convention and excites the senses.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built through my brands. From Dynamic Visual Productions, which brings each story to life on screen, to Gio Photo Service, which ensures every moment is captured with artistic precision, and even DXM, which successfully pre-launched in 2024 and is coming back stronger this year, everything works in harmony to create something truly special.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced financial challenges, setbacks, and the pressure of balancing creativity with the realities of running multiple brands. But every obstacle has been a lesson. I’ve learned to lean on my team, adapt quickly, and always find a way forward. This journey has taught me that failure isn’t the opposite of success; it’s part of the process.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know, it’s that my work is for everyone. Whether you’re attending a show, modeling on the runway, or part of the behind-the-scenes magic, my goal is to create an environment where people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.
Mark your calendars for April 12th, it’s going to be an unforgettable night of High Street Fashion. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to share even more as we grow, evolve, and continue making a difference in the industry. Stay tuned, there’s so much more to come!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Houston, I’d plan a week that showcases the perfect mix of luxury, culture, and hidden gems. From incredible dining experiences to unforgettable sights, Houston has something for everyone, and I’d make sure their trip captures the best the city has to offer.
To kick off their arrival, we’d check in at Hotel Zaza for its vibrant, artsy atmosphere or The Lancaster for its classic boutique charm. For dinner, we’d visit Tavola, where I have the privilege of working. The authentic Italian dishes, warm ambiance, and top-notch service would make for the perfect welcome meal. Afterward, we’d head to Z on 23 for cocktails under the stars with a panoramic view of Houston’s skyline.
Day two would be all about exploring the arts and culture. We’d start with breakfast at Common Bond Bistro, then dive into the Museum District, starting with The Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH). After enjoying the exhibits, we’d grab lunch at The Pit Room for some of the best BBQ in the city. The afternoon would be spent strolling through Hermann Park and the Japanese Garden, followed by a live performance at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts or a movie screening at Rooftop Cinema Club.
For a touch of fashion and shopping, day three would begin with coffee and breakfast at Blacksmith Coffee Bar. We’d then spend the morning exploring luxury boutiques at River Oaks District or the mix of high-end and accessible stores at The Galleria. Lunch at Le Colonial would offer a refined Vietnamese dining experience. The highlight of the afternoon would be a stop by Houston Runway’s High Street Fashion Pop-Up Showroom, offering a sneak peek into the creativity leading up to our big show on April 12th. The day would end with an indulgent dinner at Steak 48 or State of Grace.
Day four would focus on Houston’s natural beauty. After a farm-to-table breakfast at Dish Society, we’d spend the morning biking or kayaking through Buffalo Bayou Park. Lunch at Brenner’s on the Bayou would provide a peaceful retreat with waterfront views. The afternoon would include a visit to the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, followed by a casual dinner of Tex-Mex and margaritas at El Tiempo Cantina.
Day five would be an adventure for foodies and art lovers. Starting with wings and waffles at The Breakfast Klub, we’d then explore Space Center Houston to delve into the city’s ties to space exploration. On the way back, we’d stop by Killen’s Barbecue for a true taste of Texas. The afternoon would be spent discovering street art at Graffiti Park and admiring murals across the city. Dinner would be a laid-back seafood boil at Crawfish & Noodles, with a nightcap at Anvil Bar & Refuge to wind down.
Relaxation would take center stage on day six, beginning with brunch at Tiny Boxwoods in its dreamy garden setting. We’d then indulge in a luxurious spa day at The Post Oak Hotel Spa. The afternoon would include a leisurely walk through Discovery Green and a visit to CityCentre for shopping, dining, and live music. Dinner at MAD Houston would bring the perfect blend of fun and sophistication, while the night would end with dancing at Heights Social or live music at The Rustic.
On the final day, we’d enjoy breakfast at Katz’s Deli and take a calming stroll through The Menil Collection and Rothko Chapel. For lunch, we’d savor one last meal at Hugo’s, known for its exceptional Mexican cuisine. Before their departure, I’d make sure they picked up a keepsake from Houston Museum Shop or SpaceTrader Gift Shop.
My bestfriend would enjoy the fact that this weeks Itenerary would capture the energy, diversity, and beauty of Houston, a city that has shaped my brands and continues to inspire me every day. From luxury dining to authentic local spots, it’s a trip that shows why Houston truly has it all.
