Meet Jazmin Anderson | Media Proprietor- Author & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmin Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazmin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business is really a vision coming to reality. I realized that with my personality traits, what career path I wanted at the age of 17.

I wanted to be in Media, Hosting a show, Interviewing people and learning about how they made it to their level of success and through their life’s challenges. I knew I could be my best self in the media field, by utilizing my vibrant and bubbly personality to meet and network with new and interesting people. I remember saying I want to be the host on 106 & Park or a similar show.

I would practice and host our Pep Rallies & Talent shows in high school. I was part of the committee for our high school year book media. I remember an assignment we had to do in class. It was a personality and career test to see what you wanted to do when you grew up. So I said I’m going to be a journalist.

To make a Long story short, I worked for other media companies and was a freelance reporter. I can say that working at YAHOO SPORTS RADIO & ESPN RADIO led me to starting my own media business. It started with me wanting to create my own portfolio and highlight my talents in reporting because the big TV networks weren’t hiring me in my preferred position. I wanted to work for VIACOM for the longest. So I tried local media companies, as well as some that were out of state to build my experience for my resume. However the desire to work for some of those companies did not work out. I saw it as an opportunity to create and add what I felt was missing in the media industry. So In 2016, I started my own media company (JTV ONE), Which stands for JOURNEY TO VICTORY.

The ONE in JTV ONE represents the root of opportunity in our lives. It is a symbol of confidence, power, and action. It pushes us to look at our current circumstances and realize that we have the power to turn them into anything we wish.

The ONE inspires us to take control of our future and embrace new beginnings. It represents newness, movement, and the possibilities that await us by being confident, exercising our power, and taking action. For me, the number ONE also symbolizes Spiritually; for it is the number of creation and birth of all things…the divine origin of the universe.

JTV ONE does just that: “the network that inspires you to reach for the stars”.

All of the content and interviews we conduct are uplifting and motivating, intended to help any individual get inspired to be their best and to push forward, no matter the challenges.

I have a clear vision behind the brand. From informative events, to articles, to interviews, to highlighting businesses; All those opportunities and interactions pushed me to define my purpose and strive toward what I knew I wanted to do. I was inspired and motivated to create my own media platform. And I know that from this business platform, I can fulfill my purpose while helping to enable and empower people to be better.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
JTV ONE Network is a broadcasting media company. It is structured to highlight and promote people, classes, businesses. It facilitates the production and performance of informative events. The brand JTV ONE is all about sparking an inspiration to be your best through all life’s challenges. Your life is a journey and this media company motivates you to continue your journey through all the speed bumps and refueling stops along the way.

This year JTV ONE has put on three Informative events with dynamic speakers: A” Powerful Woman Showcase”, “Live Fully Experience Expo“ & A “Powerful Hour”- Business Edition, 2022 Ready!

Life definitely has challenges but they are there to make us stronger and more strategic and better with how we handle certain situations. JTV ONE is growing exponentially. We see the need for providing inspirational information in the Community and we are motivated to fulfill that need. Striving for and accomplishing that purpose is definitely setting us apart from a lot of other media companies. The team is out in the Community and bringing people together in a way that helps them grow in their areas of life.

I have learned that you have to believe in yourself, even when no one else can see your vision. You have to show up and continue to present it with a mindset and aura that says it’s happening already.

I also have learned that you can’t wait on nobody. If you want something, you create the environment & the opportunity. You really have the power.

As the business grows, you will see a lot of people trying to imitate what you’re doing. Remember no one can be you, and that’s your superpower.

Know that there will be obstacles and challenges. But you continue moving forward, using all negativity as motivation to push you to get better and better.

What I want people to know about the brand JTV ONE is that we inspire people to see and realize their gift to the world and their vision. Like Proverbs 18:16, a powerful statement which says “A man’s gift makes room for him”. The creator has put a gift or talent in every person that the world will make room for. It is this gift that will enable you to fulfill your vision. It will make a way for you in life.

So when someone sees a JTV ONE interview or attends an event, they will see other people’s gift, and It will help them realize their own. JTV ONE is inspiring people to reach for the stars.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I really like Houston. There is definitely a lot to do. When I have family in town, I take them to the Galleria Area, Uptown Park & Downtown.

I like the museum district and Hotel Zaza for lunch. I also like to have lunch at Bloom & Bee. It’s located at the Post Oak Hotel. That area has an illuminating vibe and a great environment to meet new people. I like going places where the energy and atmosphere is inviting and fresh.

I also like the Uptown Park area. Lunch in any of those areas is great. The People in these areas are always smiling, always looking excited about life. I like to spend time in those environments to help me stay filled with great energy.

The museum is another favorite. The Butterfly Museum is a must visit. I love sitting in the room with all the butterflies flying around me. I take my journal there with me sometimes, and really enjoy the environment of peace and beauty while writing. However there’s always new exhibits to learn about in the museum district. After the museum you should head to Herman Park. The scenery is beautiful. You can boat ride, bike ride, walk through the Japanese blossom garden and just sit outside and become one with nature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
