We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmin Oliver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazmin, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
As a young lady, I always believe it is important to help and do nice things for others. I get excited to see the people happy around us and feel like I made a difference somehow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a student navigating through homeschooling as well as finding new hobbies and service projects to complete during my spare time. During the pandemic, I have had plenty of time to brainstorm new projects for seniors in nursing homes, create new arts and crafts, and participate in my culinary studies. With COVID-19 almost everywhere, it seems impossible to help others sometimes, but I listen to news updates and some of the things people say they are in need of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I’m born and raised in H-Town, I would recommend a city-pass that can take you to many of the cities major attractions like NASA Space Center, Kemah Boardwalk, the Aquarium and so much more. There are many places to take pictures like some of the murals and signs, too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am very grateful to my mom for always encouraging me and reminding me to never give up on my dreams. I can achieve my goals and make an impact in my community.
