We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzie Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazzie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to start The More Life Podcast, it wasn’t just a random idea or a spur-of-the-moment decision. It was born out of a deeper need for real and relatable conversations, the kind of talks that connect people to life’s genuine experiences. I wanted to create a space where people could come and hear about the realities of navigating adulthood, especially from a young person’s perspective.
After I graduated from high school, I quickly realized that the world is not what I thought it would be. Life hit me hard, and I had to face the challenges of adulthood without any manual or guidance on how to deal with it. Like many young people, I found myself struggling to figure out how things really worked — from finances, career paths, relationships, to mental health. There were so many aspects of life that I felt unprepared for.
The more I talked to people my age, the more I realized I wasn’t alone. Many of us were grappling with the same questions and uncertainties, trying to navigate a world that seemed way more complicated than we’d anticipated. Yet, there weren’t many spaces where these kinds of raw, unfiltered conversations were happening.
Most podcasts I came across were centered around relationships, which is great if that’s what you’re looking for. But for me, I didn’t want The More Life Podcast to be relationship-centered. There’s so much more to life than that, and I felt that young people needed a platform that talked about the bigger picture — from building careers to managing finances, dealing with mental health, and understanding personal growth. I wanted to create a podcast that offered depth, diversity, and authenticity.
I didn’t want to shy away from the tough conversations, either. I wanted to tackle the topics that people often avoid or don’t know how to address, especially as they’re transitioning from school into the “real world.” It was important for me to create content what not only shared my experiences but also offered practical tips and advice that could actually help others. I wanted The More Life Podcast to be a space where people could feel seen, heard, and understood.
Ultimately, my goal has always been to inspire and uplift others by sharing the things that I wish I had known when I was starting out. It’s about creating a community where we can grow together, learn from each other, and support one another through life’s ups and downs. Starting The More Life Podcast has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made, and I’m excited to continue this journey of exploring life’s many layers with my listeners.

What sets me and my journey apart with *The More Life Podcast
What sets The More Life Podcast apart from others is its focus on real, authentic conversations that go beyond typical podcast themes, driven by my commitment to adaptability, resilience, hard work, faith, and a unique approach to creativity. Each episode reflects a genuine desire to offer depth, moving past surface-level topics and addressing the real-life challenges that come with navigating adulthood. I’ve faced obstacles, from the closure of Barron Studios to learning every technical aspect of podcast production on my own, but that journey of self-reliance has shaped the podcast into what it is today. My creativity isn’t just about content creation—it’s about finding new ways to push boundaries, overcome setbacks, and deliver inspiring, relatable stories. By combining faith, resilience, and hard work, The More Life Podcast embodies a spirit of perseverance and growth that connects with listeners on a deeper level.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come despite having no technical background in podcasting. When I started, I knew nothing about recording, editing, or producing a podcast; I had to teach myself everything, from using audio equipment to mastering editing software. Along the way, I reached significant milestones, including hitting 50k views on my podcast’s Instagram page and finding a recording space at AllStar Elite in the Houston Galleria. These achievements confirmed that my efforts were resonating with people. Additionally, meeting Wallo 267, who inspires me daily in both my personal and creative life, further fueled my passion and determination to keep pushing forward on this journey.
How I got to where I am today professionally wasn’t easy at all.
There have been many setbacks, especially during Season 2 of the podcast. I faced challenges in my personal life, dealt with no-call no-shows from guests, and had people downplaying the value of my work. When Barron Studios, where I used to record, closed down, I had to find another way to keep the show going. I invested in my own equipment and taught myself how to use it, despite the learning curve. These experiences have taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and to trust in my vision.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable.
I’ve learned that persistence is everything. Even when things get tough, and it feels like giving up would be easier, it’s crucial to keep going. I’ve also learned to invest in myself and my craft, whether it’s through learning new skills or putting my money into resources that will help me grow. Another important lesson is to stay true to your purpose and block out the noise from people who may not see the value of your work.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that The More Life Podcast is about more than just conversation.
It’s about empowerment, growth, and community. I want people to feel that they are not alone in their struggles and that they can overcome whatever challenges life throws at them. My story is one of perseverance and self-determination, and I hope it inspires others to keep pushing forward in their own journeys.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Friday – Kickoff Vibes
Evening:
Start the weekend at NeighborsHTX in EaDo for R&B Game Night. The atmosphere is electric, especially with my favorite DJs: SuperJayDJ, Flemmdoggydogg, and TheLegendaryYeti. They know how to curate an unforgettable vibe, making it the perfect way to kick off the trip!
Day 2: Saturday – Brunch and Culture
Morning:
Treat them to brunch at Taste Bar Kitchen, known for its incredible menu right in the heart of downtown Houston. Their brunch offerings are some of the best in the city!
Afternoon:
Depending on the mood, we could either:
– **Attend the Official Culture Society** event, where they curate an art exhibit and orchestra concert inspired by your favorite artist. It’s a unique cultural experience that combines visual art with live music.
– Bar hop in Third Ward or Midtown. These areas are vibrant with lots of options for lively bars and lounges, perfect for mingling and enjoying the local nightlife.
Day 3: Sunday – Chill and Explore
Noon:
Head over to Nomads Hookah Lounge for another delicious brunch. Their vibe is laid-back, and it’s a great spot to relax and chat over good food.
Evening:
Cap off the weekend at Prauper Studios downtown. This underground party and art gallery experience is perfect for those looking to delve into the local art scene while enjoying an alternative nightlife atmosphere. It’s a great way to appreciate local talent and unwind.
Overall Experience:
Throughout the week, I’d make sure to highlight the diverse food scene, engaging cultural experiences, and the vibrant nightlife that Houston has to offer. It would be all about creating lasting memories and enjoying the rich tapestry of the city together!
