We had the good fortune of connecting with JDR MOB and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JDR, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are opportunities to gain knowledge and experience about something you’ve never done or knew before. We believe that taking risks is vital to success because it is a chance to get out of your comfort zone and explore a world of endless possibilities.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are very excited about what the future holds for us. We know that there are great things in store going forward. We’ve come a long way from where we started. Faith, God, and hard work is how we’re still standing today. Most of our journey was hard, and it still is honestly, it doesn’t get any easier, but we don’t plan on quitting so failure isn’t an option. Some days you may feel like you took a few steps forward, other days you feel like you took a few steps back, most days you feel like you’re not moving at all, but as long as you don’t stop, you can never fail, and as long as you put one foot in front of the other, time will prevail. Overcoming the challenges will turn you into a warrior. We just want the world to see themselves how we see ourselves, as powerful, unstoppable, gifted and talented human beings, capable of achieving anything you desire.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is a big city, and full of all kinds of activities. With us you’re bound to experience something social but yet chill. During the day, we may visit the Galleria or other clothing stores in the Montrose area, or we may hangout outdoors somewhere sunny with greenery because we love views. Then in the evening we turn up. We always eat good, so food is first and foremost, then we’ll either find a nice bar lounge/club to hangout or we’ll throw the party ourselves. Most times we throw the party ourselves because we don’t conform to these club rules and we control the vibe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost we want to thank God for allowing us to get this far. We’ve come across a lot of great individuals that have offered words of encouragement and support, and we know that nothing we do would be possible without God. We also want to give a shoutout to our team for believing in our vision, offering advice and giving suggestions on how we can elevate. And last but not least we would like to give a shoutout to our good friends Reggie at Dri-Towel, and Scott at A Rare Poe Boy. They’ve been genuine from the day we meet, and have showed nothing but love, and have continued to lift us up whenever we see one another.
