We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Blue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, how does your business help the community?
I have been on quite the journey. After going through years of abuse myself, I realized there was a real need for a supportive community for survivors like me. That’s why I founded Sister Survivor Society. Our mission is all about providing a safe and empowering space for women who have been through trauma to heal and rebuild their lives. But most importantly to celebrate their healing. Sister Survivor Society is all about serving those who think there isn’t life after trauma. Our creative and unique workshops are tailored to help these incredible women find their strength and confidence again. It’s all about giving them the tools they need to thrive. Through my speaking engagements, stage play, and book, I’m able to raise awareness about the realities of surviving a toxic relationship and the importance of supporting survivors. I believe that by sharing my own story of overcoming abuse, I can inspire others to believe in their strength and resilience. One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing the transformation in the women we support. By celebrating their journey of healing and empowerment, Sister Survivor Society is helping them reclaim their lives and move forward with strength and purpose. We’re always looking for ways to expand our reach and make an even bigger impact. Right now, we’re in the process of pitching my stageplay/book “Easier Said than Done” as a movie to major streaming platforms. I believe that by amplifying the voices of survivors, we can advocate for societal changes that aim to prevent violence and support survivors
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is that I’m not just an artist—I’m a survivor. I’ve battled through some tough times, including 15 years of domestic violence. But you know what? I didn’t let that define me. With the help of divine intervention, I embarked on an incredible self-healing journey that led me to discover my passion for storytelling. I uniquely blend education and entertainment, which I like to call edutainment, to tell real-life stories. Of all my accomplishments so far, I’m most proud of being a survivor and letting all the BS life has thrown make me better and not bitter!
My first play? Oh, it was a game-changer. It didn’t happen overnight, but the eventual success of it snagged an award, catapulting me into the world of motivational speaking. And then, bam! The pandemic hits, and I pivot like a pro, turning that play into a book and a clothing line. Now, guess what? We’re taking it to the big screen, pitching it to major streaming platforms! Talk about exciting!
Wow, what a whirlwind journey it’s been! There have definitely been moments when I’ve thought about throwing in the towel and just settling into a 9-5 job to focus on my kids and home. But every time I felt like giving up, God reminded me that my purpose was to help women get through what He brought me through. He showed me the countless women out there who needed to hear the message He gave me to share: “There is Life After Abuse, and it’s absolutely fabulous!” Okay, maybe I added the “fabulous” part, but trust me, it truly is fabulous!
You know, I’ve learned not to let those tough days get the best of me. When things don’t go according to plan, I remind myself that nothing is a failure—everything is a lesson. And let me tell you, it’s crucial to be selective about who you allow on your journey to greatness. Not everyone is meant to accompany you to the top!
Through it all, I’ve never lost sight of my mission. I want the world to know that my story and brand are all about turning pain into power and business’s baby! From surviving the darkest days of domestic violence to rising up as an unstoppable survivor, playwright, motivational speaker, and founder of Sister Survivor Society, my journey is a testament to resilience and faith. I’m all about spreading hope and reminding women everywhere that they are not alone in their struggles. Sister Survivor Society isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement, a symbol of strength, and a reminder that together, we can conquer anything life throws our way. So, to all my fellow warriors out there, remember: your past doesn’t define you, and your story is worth shouting from the rooftops. You are strong, you are worthy, and you are destined for greatness. Let’s own it, dolls!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, honey, I’m the Queen of itineraries! I would make sure my bestie’s visit is the epitome of fabulousness! To kick things off, we’d start with a luxurious spa day for some much-needed self-care and relaxation. After all, pampering ourselves is a must!
Next, we’d head to some of the trendiest eateries in town for delicious meals and cocktails that are as Instagram-worthy as they are tasty. We’d also make time to give back to the community by visiting local shelters to drop off donations and spread some love to those in need. It’s all about spreading positivity and making a difference, right?
Of course, we couldn’t miss out on exploring the city’s iconic landmarks and attractions. What’s a girl’s trip without shopping? We would have to hit the cute chic boutiques and a mall or two!.
To cap off each night, we’d hit up the hottest spots in town for some dancing and cocktails, soaking in the electric atmosphere of the city’s eclectic scene.
Overall, it would be a fun-filled time with unforgettable experiences, relaxation, and giving back to the community—all wrapped up in the glitz and glamour of the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh, where do I even begin? First and foremost God without Him I am nothing. I am also beyond grateful for the unwavering support, encouragement, and patience of my three amazing children, Christopher, D’Angelo, and Faith. They are the true stars of my life and the driving force behind everything I do. Their love and belief in me have been my greatest source of strength and inspiration, and I thank God every day for blessing me with such incredible children. I dedicate this shoutout to them with all my heart. Lastly, I’m immensely grateful for the supportive community of friends, mentors, and the Organization Dress For Success that have uplifted me along the way. Their belief in me has been a constant source of motivation and encouragement, and I thank God for placing them in my life. To all of them, I owe a debt of gratitude for their role in my journey.
