We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Telle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, why did you pursue a creative career?
My passion for real estate is really derived from the enjoyment I get out of helping others. Getting to view gorgeous properties, different architectural styles and interior design is a bonus. While real estate may not be considered a creative career in a traditional sense, I consider it both an art and science. Aside from the technical components of the transaction, real estate is really all about people. It’s about forming relationships and helping your clients. Making the big decision to buy or sell a home is often an emotional process. Getting to really know your clients and digging deep to find out what they really want and need and then formulating creative solutions really comes into play, especially given the market changes we have experienced in the last few years.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Prior to transitioning to a full-time career in real estate, I worked as an ICU RN for over 10 years. I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business Management and an Associate’s Degree in Registered Nursing from Kent State University. My clinical nursing background has given me a valuable skillset, including meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to problem-solve quickly while working in stressful situations. Those skills, along with a client-centered attitude, love for helping others and desire for continual learning have helped me become successful in real estate. The biggest challenge I encountered when I first began working in real estate, was transitioning from a career in which I was considered experienced to being a novice agent. Knowledge is how I overcame this obstacle. I have a strong desire for continual education and growth, both professionally and personally.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston Rodeo is one of my favorite events to visit in Houston; it’s definitely worth checking out! My kids and I love bicycling through the walking trails in The Woodlands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Mike Telle, who is an amazing father to our two sons and a hard-working entrepreneur himself. He continues to inspire and motivate me.
