Meet Jennifer Wauhob | Realtor, Team Leader, Chair of the Houston Association of Realtors

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Wauhob and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I have a very busy schedule and travel frequently for work. I once received a really nasty letter from another mom in my neighborhood criticizing me for not spending enough time with my kids. Sadly, I think moms judging other moms is far too common. I’m a big proponent of doing what is best for YOU, whether that’s staying at home with your kids or choosing to pursue a career outside the home. I think kids thrive when their parents are happy! I recently read a book that said one of the worst things for a child to witness is their parent not going after their dreams. Even though I work long hours, I have a great relationship with my daughters and love that they have gotten to see their mom accomplish some really big things.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a real estate team specializing in residential home sales. Most people don’t realize that Real Estate is actually a very tough industry to succeed in, the turnover rate is extremely high. Being a successful Realtor is challenging enough, but then building a successful team is even harder. I made a ton of mistakes, hired the wrong people, and took 2 steps backward more times than I’d like to count. But in the end, I’m so glad I stuck with it and am so proud of the team that I’ve built and how they go above and beyond to take great care of our clients. Moving can be a stressful experience so we try to make it fun. We laugh a lot, and love giving our clients lots of little surprises and gifts along the way, all while getting them top-notch results.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to have fun without FOOD! Houston has so many great restaurants so whenever we have guests from out of town we love to take them out and treat them to dinner. I love Steak 48, Travelers Table, El Tiempo or Anthonie’s out in Simonton. I’m a sucker for a good patio and a good margarita. And if visitors are from up north, we always have to take them out for their first crawfish experience!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
No one succeeds alone and there are so many people who have helped me get where I am. Managers, coaches, mentors, and people who were further along in their careers than I was. Yet they still took the time to encourage me, answer questions, and help put me in positions where I could grow. I never would have figured all this out on my own!
