We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Goldfarb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
No high quality deli meat existed in the vegan world – that needed to change, because I was hungry for it!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Unreal Deli is the maker of the world’s finest plant based deli meats. What sets us apart is quality. We are proud of using whole plant based ingredients to build our meats, and have them taste incredibly similar to the real thing. We got where we are by being relentless, being willing to do all parts of the business before I was able to build a team. It wasn’t easy, it’s still not easy – we are learning on the job, always. I have learned not to let one setback bring on too much stress – to compartmentalize the challenges so they don’t overtake the whole picture. I want the world to know we don’t have to hurt animals, our earth or our health to eat the finest deli meat on the planet!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d be looking at a lot of beaching and hiking, dining at the finest vegan restaurants in town, maybe a comedy club if we’re really feeling crazy. Swimming, massages, ok I’m ready for a vacation now…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my dad, Steve – who miraculously survived covid recently and has been the biggest miracle in my life in general, a business, family and soul inspiration.
