We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremye Vallot and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremye, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started to DJ due to my love for music. i always listened to music on the radio and listen to how the DJs would mix the music. When i was younger my dad was a bartender at a Club in Houston called Taylor’s. Some nights i would have to go to work with him on the weekends. On those nights i would stay in the DJ booth all night. i would watch the house DJ Dj Jamming Joe control and rock the crowd night after night. Eventually as i grew up he started teaching me to DJ and he would let me DJ while he would take breaks and eventually started letting me close the nights. At this time Deejaying was done mostly by CDs. Once i went to college. i started Deejayin at my college of Sam Houston State University. While i was there me and a fellow DJ at name Dj Yeti notice that nooone booked us they would always book out of town DJs or DJs from other schools. So we began dropping mixtapes and started doing our own events to gain recognition. Our first big party was an 80s vs 90s party and it was a great success. My Dj Career progressively took off after that. After moving back to houston i began deejaying at clubs and lounges. i didn’t find the success i was looking for. i began deejaying weddings and started to make a name for my self Deejaying over 100 weddings since 2011. i ultimately still wanted to DJ more often and be able to have creative control over my events. So i went back to my college idea and threw my own events. i named my company EnjoyLife Eventz. I like to think of Deejaying as an opportunity to make an enjoyable experience and create profound memories. i wanted to curate an event that would appeal to the kick back culture while also being able to play music that was more nostalgic than popular.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe i got to where i am by simply never quitting and continue to push through trials and tribulations. i have had all my equipment stolen the weekend i was deejaying for all star weekend. I recently had my Facebook and Instagrams hacked and disabled two days before a big sold out event. i push through leaned on God and My work ethic and ended up having a great event. i have had my my computer crash while deejaying in my early years deejaying. so many instances that challenged my ability to push through but i have always found a way. deejaying even though it has never been easy but has truly been a big part of who i am. I always pushed through my troubles knowing that i could get back on my feet as long as i had my equipment i could support my self and supplement my needs through the profession. I always Say EnjoyLife because it’s the best response for all life troubles and challenges. I will always EnjoyLife as my response to any situation. EnjoyLife means to appreciate life and every thing about it. Enjoy the time you get here on earth. Enjoy the people and the lives around. Appreciate all that life has to offer and choose to enjoy rather than suffer. I would like people to EnjoyLife to the fullest appreciate the time you have and the people around you.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe there is so many people that deserve a shoutout for my current success. God first of course. Also i have a group of friends who truly believe in me and my talents. Two in Particular are my friend and partner Q.Guyton, Artist and Entrepreneur and also owner Of the Media Block. i was going through some tough times and he empowered me to throw my own events and get back to what i really would like to persue in life. He really bet on me! He allowed me to use his venue to host my events at his event space. He shot my promo material. truly pushed me to use my talents. also two of my friend CJ and Trey also were very key pillars in the success of EnjoyLife Eventz. They help me plan and prepare the events.
