We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerod Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerod, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Houston Warriors Organized Sports wasn’t just a choice—it was a calling. I saw a critical need for quality role models in youth sports, mentors who truly inspire, guide, and lead by example. Too often, young athletes are left without the right kind of support, and I knew that had to change.

There is also a clear disconnect in coaching and development. Many programs focus solely on performance and winning, neglecting the bigger picture—developing young people into well-rounded athletes and individuals. I want to bridge that gap by ensuring coaching is more than just X’s and O’s; it should be about teaching, empowering, and instilling confidence in every athlete.

And let’s be honest—youth sports need to be shown in a better light. The negativity, the politics, and the toxic culture in some spaces overshadow the real beauty of sports: growth, teamwork, and passion. My mission is to change the narrative, to highlight the incredible stories, dedication, and resilience of young athletes, coaches, and families.

With my professional background in Global Supply Chain and Business Development, I’ve learned how to assess and meet the needs of all stakeholders—players, parents, coaches, and organizations. I see the bigger picture, and I understand how to create real solutions that work for everyone involved.

This isn’t just about business. It’s about impact. It’s about building something that lasts, something that makes a difference in the lives of young athletes and sets a new standard for coaching, mentorship, and youth sports as a whole.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Oh, where do I begin? Imagine blending the precision of global supply chain logistics with the creativity of business development—and then throwing in a deep passion for youth sports, coaching, and quality role models. That’s me!

What sets me apart? I see the bigger picture. My background in global supply chain means I don’t just focus on one piece of the puzzle—I make sure the whole thing fits together seamlessly. Whether it’s understanding what athletes, coaches, or communities need, I take a strategic approach to delivering value where it matters most.

Was it easy? Ha! Not even close. But every challenge was like a tough game—one that taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to pivot when things don’t go as planned. Supply chain teaches you to expect the unexpected, and business development taught me how to turn those challenges into opportunities.

The biggest lesson? People are at the heart of everything. Whether it’s sports, business, or life, the right guidance, structure, and leadership make all the difference. That’s why I’m building something that not only showcases youth sports in a better light but also develops the next generation of role models and leaders.

So, what do I want the world to know? I’m here to shake things up, bridge gaps, and create a lasting impact—one athlete, one coach, and one community at a time.
