We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrold Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jerrold, what do you want your legacy to be?
So I’m with my college football team in my late teens, and we were flying home from an away game. In my window seat, I woke up from a nap, opened my window shutter to see a completely unexpected view of a breathtaking cloudscape. It stretched as far as you could see. Statuesque, majestic monstrosities. I just couldn’t comprehend what I was seeing. The moment was so surreal for me. It didn’t hurt that one of those slow ballad Al Green songs was currently playing from my CD player headphones. But even so, that moment I’ll never forget. That’s my experience that started it all. I just can’t stop painting them.. One day I’m going to hire a pilot just to take me up several miles to shoot photos out the open door of a plane. So, when it’s all said and done, it would be nice if people thought of my love of skies and clouds and my journey as an artist exploring them when they thought about my name.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My art explores intends to explore these skies. I enjoy painting the relationships of color and the many, and often subtle atmospheric elements found in the sky.
I look at the sky and see a canvas that’s constantly changing and never ending.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to send a shoutout just to my friends and family as a whole. The encouragement has just been tremendous and I wouldn’t be here without them
