We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Czubinski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerry, what are you inspired by?

Our inspiration is fueled by the passion and magic of Christmas. The feeling of seeing children’s and adults’ faces light up when they first see Santa and Mrs. Claus, a feeling hard to explain…..but you feel it in your heart. The warmth, the excitement, and especially the love. There is nothing like that eye contact and running towards you for a true and overwhelming hug, a hug you can feel to your core. It’s a feeling that moves you and inspires you to Do More, Be More, and Be Santa. It’s a gift, that everyone has this opportunity in a chapter of their lives.
I have this Quote from Pope Francis embroidered into one of my suits:
“God never gives someone a gift they are not capable of receiving. If he gives us the gift of Christmas it is because we all have the ability to understand and receive it.” – Pope Francis

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

What sets us apart from the normal day-to-day is finding something new, inspiring and creative— something to connect Santa and Mrs. Claus to the everyday world, that the children and adults can connect with and believe in the love and magic of the spirit of Christmas. We have chosen “Blue Angel Santa Claus”as our name to spread the Christmas Magic. As an ex-Blue Angel serving on the team from 94-98, I’m able to instill real life experiences into my “Santa Tales,” as well as some of the appearances and events we create or attend. One Event we enjoy doing is the Vietnam War Flight Museum holiday pictures. This is where I get to wear a Flight Suit donned with both Blue Angel and Santa Claus patches, along with my Santa hat, belt, buckle, and fur trimmed boots. I also bring along a full sized Rudolph collar and harness. I also can’t forget a full sized Blue Angel Flight Helmet, flight gloves, jacket and parachute. Children and Aviation enthusiasts are in awe when they get to try on a Real Blue Angel helmet, jacket and gloves. My story for this is Santa wears this when he is conducting Pre-Christmas test flights. A few of the items that we hand out include, a set of Junior Sleigh Pilot Wings, Special Reindeer Shoes that are only used on the Christmas Eve flight, and a baseball card that includes a swatch of flown suit material from one of the test flights or from the Christmas Eve delivery flight. Mrs. Claus even has a used material card. All of these are unique to our brand and push the envelope of the typical Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Favorite Spots in the City for Santa and Mrs. Claus… Hmm…Of course we have to go with the Vietnam War Flight Museum, then make our rounds over to the Lone Star Flight Museum and then over to the amazing Houston Space Center.
After a few hours of Santa telling numerous stories of flight and fantasy, we grab lunch at Saint Arnold Brewing Company in one of the cathedral painted restaurant booths, and you cannot forget the amazing Fat Cat ice Cream for dessert. After lunch, we head North to drop by one of our heartfelt charities, Moses Closet of the Woodlands.
We then catch a play at the historic Crighton Theatre in Conroe and swing by the Ferm Meadery for a quick local drink and snack.
We also do a bit of Texas history as we head North and stop by the giant statue of Sam Houston at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. Great history of this great state of Texas. All of this leads us to the Amazing Madisonville Christmas Company.  The Madisonville Christmas Company is a year-round Christmas adventure for friends, and even relatives, of Santa and Mrs. Claus. It’s an amazing place to celebrate the traditions of all things Christmas and a must to see and believe the magic. And of course, we would end the day with dinner at their onsite sports bar and restaurant The Mantel.
A nice trip around the world with the Blue Angel Santa and Mrs Claus.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My beautiful wife Carolyn deserves more credit and recognition than she receives. She is my biggest fan, supporter, cheerleader, best friend, as well as my soulmate. Over the past 30 years she has been by my side supporting me not only as Santa but during some rough times in my 25-year Navy Career. She not only had to raise our amazing kids while I was deployed, but she had to make sure the home front was taken care of, not an easy task. Carolyn’s my Super Hero, my anchor, best friend and my Reality.
