Meet Jessica Li | Acupuncturist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a doctorate degree. Early in my career, I moved
from China to the United States to study at the Houston Medical School, where I later stayed to conduct research in
neuroscience. My research focused on the mechanisms of acupuncture for pain relief and the anti-tumor effects of Chinese
medicine on brain tumors.
In my spare time, I am passionate about practicing acupuncture. Whenever my friends, colleagues, or neighbors experience
illness or pain, I am happy to provide them with free acupuncture treatments, which have been well received and highly
praised.
Due to a reduction in research funding, my institution had to streamline its research staff. Around that time, a medical
insurance company was recruiting acupuncturists. After receiving several invitations, I decided to transition into clinical
acupuncture practice, marking the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. Initially, I collaborated with a physician who
owned a sports center, where I primarily treated post-sports injury pain and assisted with weight loss. Later, I moved to an
urgent care clinic, focusing on using acupuncture to help manage acute pain in patients with hypertension. These treatments
yielded effective results and earned positive feedback from many patients.
What should our readers know about your business?
Since January of this year, I have officially established my own acupuncture clinic in Pearland. Here, I have integrated traditional
Chinese medicine with modern medical technology to enhance the effectiveness and speed of acupuncture treatments for
various conditions. I am also actively researching and discovering new acupuncture points with remarkable therapeutic effects.
Currently, my clinic offers a range of services, including electroacupuncture, dynamic acupuncture therapy, cupping and
moving cupping, heat/meridian acupressure, and moxibustion/moxa cupping. If you have any needs or are interested in
learning more, please feel free to contact us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like to take my friends to watch the sunrise in Galveston in the morning, then go to Moody Gardens to watch 3D/4D movies, go
to Kemah’s restaurant to eat seafood, visit NASA’s space center, drive back to Pearland to Killen barbecue restaurant to buy beef
ribs to take home, have dinner with friends, drink some red wine, make some homemade cocktails after dinner, watch
TV/Netflix with friends, eat some fruits and drink cocktails together.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thanks to Dr. Liu Meichang, President of the American Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Alliance, for leading acupuncturists
from all over the United States to hold free clinics every month on Capitol Hill. Over the past ten years, they have won the trust
of countless congressional staff and patients with precise and effective acupuncture treatments, allowing more people to
experience the characteristics of Chinese acupuncture in person. They have also strived to include acupuncture services in
medical insurance, allowing the American people to benefit from this safe, non-drug Chinese medical treasure.
